The guy I purchased the deuce from said everthing is in working condition except a broken brake line...which I repaired. The seals in the cylinder seamed to be in great shape...no visible ware. On the bleeding...I bled them properly and the brakes worked great at that time, had good pressure...
This may be a stupid question, but what does it mean when you have to hold the gas pedal down a tiny bit to start the truck? Every time I try to start it, it wont run unless I hold the pedal down a bit...and I have to hold it for a good 30 seconds until it will run by itself. Is this normal? I...
I have been restoring my m35a2 and I am getting down to the last few items to fix on my list... The main item is my brakes! I have replaced all the main brake lines, bled and put new fluid in, and removed/ cleaned the master cylinder. Everything seemed to be in working order, there appear to be...
Ya, I finally got it working......their was a air pocket in the cylinder! It just took a little extra time to squeeze the air out. And rather let the fluid run all over when bleeding, I did use a hose and bucket. I filled my truck with one bottle! That DOT-5 stuff is like $30 a quart:o
Thak you...
Ya, not as much as I should be :( Im kind of new to the MV game and Im learning fast! I read the TMs and tried the proper bleeding tecs but nothing seemed to work.
That may be the issue! I didnt think about that.....
Yes, I had to replace a few of my lines, it had the originals from the 70s and they were leaky as can be....so I just decided to replace them all..
Now to get ride of the air, how should I approach this? Do I have to remove the entire...
Thank you all for the good advice. I just went out and messed with it a little more and after thirty minutes of trying to bleed the air pack and wheels...I loosened the line tht runs from the master cylinder to the air pack and pumped it....And nothing came out. I even had the cylinder full. It...
I just replaced all my brake lines and I poured my new fluid into the master cylinder. Do I need a special pump or something? Because I opened a bleeder and poured in the fluid and pumped the brake pedal and nothing happens. I hear the solution sloshing around, but nothing comes out. Let me know...
I have noticed that both of my windows on my truck have not been functioning quite right. The passenger window is wobbly, but appears to line up with everything....and the drivers side window is stiff and doesnt line up correctly with the seal. Also when the windows are all the way down, it is...
Well, I am in the process of fixing my deuce up so it is in perfect funct condition. The harness on it does work....but when I say work, I mean its their and it functions for the most part. Just about all my connection areas are worn and or have broken off and the main wire is pretty corroded in...
I have been looking around for a front wire harness for my m35a2 and have narrowed it down to a couple places where I can purchase one. Both Eriks military and Easter surplus & equipment has them for sale.
I contacted both companies and Eriks said their harnesses fit with no mods or splicing...
This is prolly a real dum question, but I honestly dont know. Where is the wheel cylinder located on the wheel? Is the cylinder the fitting where the steel brake lines connect? Im in the process of installing new lines and I am having trouble with the rusty bolts.....I tried using a line wrench...
I am getting my deuce all up to spec and I have decided to put new fluid in it.....I dont think it has ever been changed!lol My question is :what kind/ brand of brake fluid, axle fluid, and oil is recommended in these types of trucks?
My issue is...when I go to start my deuce, I have to hold the gas pedal down a tad in order for it to start. Then I have to hold the pedal down for a minute or so until it runs by itself.....because it will stall if I let go too soon.
Is this typical for these trucks? Or is their a problem I...
