    Custom Security System

I was an installer/upfitter, building cop cars, fire trucks, ambulances, etc. and yes, even did a stint installing car alarms and stereos. When you had to tap VSS wires, run lines throughout the vehicle, make it idiot proof and **** near invisible, doing a stereo or an alarm is child's play. I...

    Custom Security System

APRS. APRS trackers can switch relays via an APRS message, like the OpenTracker2... Hook it to the fuel shutoff solenoid. You'll have location AND the ability to remotely shut it down.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Going to go look at an M1009 tomorrow. Owner thought he had a bad flexplate...so he took it to a transmission shop, they said they replaced it, now it doesn't run.... just grinds.. He doesn't wanna fight with the shop and apparently he doesn't wanna deal with the truck either. It's cheap...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Picked up an M1009. Been driving it and noticed shift points were off.... 35 and 50, super harsh. I know what that means.... So I pulled the air cleaner housing off and inspected the vacuum lines... They crumbled in my hand. Went to O'Reilly, spent 6$ on new vacuum tubing, and now...

    Vacuum line part ID/name

Bypassed the adaptor and went straight to connectors. Hoses were rotted... all of them. Replaced them, about $6 at O'Reilly. Now it shifts around 25 and 35 and is so soft you almost can't feel it .. yay!

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Just getting pissed. My M1031 bench fits me fine. A little tight but completely usable. I get a 1009, and I feel like I'm in a jeep, with the steering wheel in my ***** and my head hitting the ceiling... what the **** is going on here? I pulled seats out of an S10 since they looked a little...

    How are ya'll locking/securing your 5-tons?

I installed a battery switch... heavy duty I also had these handles/lock protectors welded to the door/body, allowing me to use a beefy cylinder lock. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Fenix-Black-Gate-Handle/1000194269

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Sold it... Waiting for the lowboy to get here..... again.... First one came and it was overheight because the broker lied to the trucker and told him it was 11'0" instead of 11'6"... Compound that with a deck height of 3'7" instead of 3'2" and letting the air out of the tires wasn't gonna get it...

    Overland 5-ton camper with a 20' container (now 40' !)

and by putting your bed above the cab, you're seriously limiting the height... which will restrict quite a few... uhhh... nocturnal activities....

Need some life/truck advice Re: M1031

I may ask an attorney friend of mine to write a strongly worded letter to them. Sounds like it may lubricate the gears.

Need some life/truck advice Re: M1031

I have not. I know by cashing the check I'm accepting their offer. I told both insurance Co. that it's not acceptable and to come up with something better. Both of them issued a check AGAINST my explicit instructions..... I have not signed or agreed to anything

Need some life/truck advice Re: M1031

Body damage, bumper, brush guard, headlight trim bezel, and quarter panel, in addition to the other stuff. Yes to all the above .. it overheated on the highway... I have another issue because the low coolant light and overheat light don't work.... they did before the accident... Yes but it...
