    MEP 803A Home Backup Wiring/Cleaning

I have a 200 amp double throw but I would be coming out of a meter combo instead of a straight meter pan. I had an electrician come and look but I believe it is illegal to modify the meter combo to put in a TS (transfer switch). I am in rural central Louisiana so we are out of power a few...

    MEP 803A Home Backup Wiring/Cleaning

Hi, First, than you for this forum. I recently got a gen set for home backup. I realized every situation is different but thought I would share my route for others and hopefully have others chime in with their experience/advise also. I have searched a lot and have come up short on experiences...

Good luck to everyone in Ida's path

I am in Alexandria, all is well, never rained or lost power yesterday. We have relatives staying with us from Destrehan (30 min from N.O.) for a few days until they can safely get back. Haven’t heard any reports on how their property faired. Laura hit us last year and I am determined to...

Anyone ever ran wire from generator through attic to their transfer switch? That legal? Any data anywhere on time/hrs on running these before the unbalanced load becomes a problem? Thanks!

    MEP 804B 805B Unbalanced Load

I honestly don’t know how to read this from the units in the attic. I didn’t see a simple plate like the outside condenser. I am only concerned with the AC portion of the unit and NOT the heating elements. I can call my AC guy tomorrow and maybe he can help.

    MEP 804B 805B Unbalanced Load

Hi! First post! Is it necessary to balance these gensets if only running it for 1-3 days at a time for home backup? If so, what can you run to try and balance the L2 on them? A couple high wattage halogen 120v bulbs? I could move some household 120v things around to draw some of the L2...
