    MEP 803A1 versus MEP003a

Great feedback. Thank you. I have an additioal question. Do you know the number of hours these generators should be good for? I see them anywhere from 30 hours to 5,000 hours. Would you have reservations about purchase one with more than 3,000 hours?

    MEP 803A1 versus MEP003a

Anyone have experience or knowledge about the MEP 803A1 generator set? I am considering purchasing the MEP003a set but ran across the MEP803A1 set. Just wondering what your thoughts might be. The MEP803a1 seems to be a better choice (wireless brushes, etc..). Thank you - Steve

    Deuce Steering & Clutch concerns

I also purchased my 1987 M35A2 from Warner Robins. Just drove it to Tennessee last week (approx 330miles). I encountered the same sludge issue with this truck. I simply removed the filler neck screen and refuled without it. Made it home without a hitch. Whew, I am just beginning to realize how...

    Deuce Steering & Clutch concerns

More concerns?? Fuel tank sludge.... Maybe I was more fortunate than I knew. You mentioned "fuel tank sludge problem". Well when I stopped to refuel, I could not pump fuel into the tank. Upon closer examination, I discover the filler neck filter was completly fill with some sort of sludge. I...

    Deuce Steering & Clutch concerns

Happy days! Just purchased a 1987 M35A2 from GL. The truck made the 300 mile trek from Warner Robins back to Tennessee with no issues. I did notice a couple of things that have me a little worried. I spent several hours reading through all the M35A2 threads and did not find any mention of these...

    M1008 Starter Issue

Yes. I cleaned the battery posts and clamps. I also installed a different set of batteries. In addition I checked the tech manual and found the "suspicious wire" is a suppressor for the radios. Thanks again. - Steve

    M1008 Starter Issue

ALRIGHT!!!! She's running. Here's what I found. I discovered a wire that attached directly between the 24 volt bar and the ground bar. Didn't think it should be there (it appeared to be a fused wired wrapped in black electrical tape) so I removed it. Once I removed the suspicious wire everything...

    M1008 Starter Issue

Bingo. You found the answer. That problem is corrected. However, I still have to jump (with NATO cable) the M1008 to get it started. The new starter (just like the old starter I just replaced) turns very, very slowy without the jump. With the jump it fires straight away. I check the...

    M1008 Starter Issue

Yes sir. Replaced the relay and encountered same problem. I then removed the relay (no relay was installed) and tried to hook up the batteries again. Same problem. I then removed the relay wire from the starter and the starter did NOT attempt to turn when I attached the batteries. Not sure what...

    M1008 Starter Issue

Greetings from Tennessee. Just purchased a M1008 from GL. When I picked up the M1008, the battery appeared dead. No problem, used a UN slave cable and jump started vehicle with no problem. Drove the truck home and did not turn it off until she was parked in the drive. Good thing. After I turn it...
