I got it loaded. I used some ramps and a atv winch and pull it on. I didn't get it lined up before I started up the ramps. It ended up taking me a out an hour to get it loaded. With a second set of hands I think I could have done it in 15 mins.
I had to cut 2 1/2 inches out of each wheel...
I think they're good as long as you keep them under 2 tons....2 looks like it's pushing it to me.
I towed 4 tons of gravel a few miles with mine....not a good idea, but it didn't break.
I ended up getting my s-250 from jcappeljr.
John dropped it right in the bed of my truck. I have a short bed F250 superduty. If it had another 2 inches, I could have shut the tailgate.(after I took the extra crap off the door)
I didn't take any before pictures. but here's the first...
In Va, the homemade thing is pretty easy. You go to DMV, fill out a form and they give a vin plate. You then rivet the plate on the trailer and get a police office to look at it and sign your form. Take that back to DMV and get a home made title.
here's the form
you get to pick the empty...
I'll be starting a build in the next couple of weeks with a m101 and s250. I'm hoping to have it ready to go to the Fiddler's convention in Galax, Aug. 5.
So far, here's what I have planned before the Galax trip:
Full size bed or futon.
Shore power connections - wiring + circuit breakers

Is that what you saw?
If so, they look nice. I could think of a few different uses for them.
If anyone needs help in VA, let me know...I can tell you exactly what you need to say/do to pass for a class B. Or I can get you information directly from the testers manual.
I looked at that place too....it looks like they're bigger and twice the weight of the s-250s.
Did the S250s come in two different lengths? or would they measure the extras too?
Good news....GL said they would help load it into a pickup. Now if I get it, I don't even need to bring a trailer.
AND if the GL box fall through, I found one on craigslist...
GL has a few S-250 shelters. I know it's been done before but I might want to get one to drop in my M101. I know I'll have to cut the wheel wells a couple of inches but is there anything else to make it fit?
Also, GL says it will load a flat bed. Do yall think they'll drop it in the M101 or...
It seems like it's in pretty good shape. It pulls nice behind the truck but I got it for this:
I think it will sit level behind the jeep. I just picked up the trailer tonight after a friend put the tires on. The truck is a little more reliable so I left the jeep at home.
I'm planning on...
That's what I thought.. :(
I've seen a bunch of people switch the axle out...but I haven't heard what they did with the axle, rims and tires when they're done.
I just bought a M101A1. It came with what looks like the original tires so I switched them out for a set of 245/75 16s. I think they should work well for a while. I'm going to eventually replace the axle so I can match the 6 lug rims on my jeep but I need a spare rim/tire until I can do that...
