Put hardware cloth on the lower intake grates too. There easy enough to get on with zip ties. The radiator opening is alreaty rodent proof.

Mine spits oil out if i run it with the cap off too. I wouldnt dig into it to much.

If you use PT wood get the ground contact stuff. Most of it isnt rated for that. Pouring a slab or making a gravel pad is easier than finding ground contact stuff here. My 802 is on a 1 1/2 stone gravel pad 8x21ft.

You may want to use a twist lock on that part.

Paint thinner/mineral spirits. Let it soak and use a tooth brush to scrub it. Soak it again then use a blow gun.

Guy have you tryed leaving the oil cap off and starting the set?...lol you only do that once. It may run at a vacuum but oul mist/drops come out of there like the crank is throwing it out. Get the cap fixed, fill the oil, clean the set then run it to properly see if anything else is leaking.

The idea is the water is bigger than the micron of the filter and drops down in the bottom of the bowl. At least thats my understanding of it.

I would just fix the charging circuit properly. Useing a battery charger for as an alternator would be my last resort..for when the unit quit while it was needed. These new battery chsrgers need voltage to make voltage. So if your set will start with batterys that have 23v the charger may not...

You might have to take it out to measure it. It would be a great time to add a block heater if your in the climate. Make sure you get the correct sealant to install the new ones and flush the system when your done. The goo coming out of that engine dosnt look good.

Noise when its cranking? That could mean missing teeth on the ring gear. A new starter could help but not for long. If you suspect this i suggest taking the starter out, put a mark on it then turning the engine by hand to check the ring gear.

Have you done all the normal maintenance items like filters and fluids? You can also reset the fuel pumps on the rack by turning them. I suggest you read the TM on how to do this. I would do filters and fluids before anything else. Then get your self 3 5kw electric dryer elements to stop...

I believe the cut line on top of the engine above the gen head goes to the return that goes towards the tank down by the engine oil drain valve in your second pic....so both of your lines in the pic, connect them together. Daybreaks contitech part number is good and is about 25ft of hose. More...

With this style of pop off injector/fuel pump running some 2 stroke oil even in diesel wouldnt be a bad idea. 803/2, 003/2 generators that is.

Did you get the metal well nuts to replace the rubber ones? The metal ones are a better design.
