When I replaced my power steering pump, it took a couple days for steering to be 'normal'... hard lock left to right and back again a couple times...drive it a bit... top it off...repeat... I had zero assist at idle until the fluid worked its way through.

I painted mine, and it rained that night. I noticed streaks in the paint...... but no discolored water or anything on/around the truck.... but about a week later the streaks were gone and it looked fine....

That's indicating OK for 2WD (C30) but not 4wd (K30). I'll take your word for it though, if you're using them. :D

I've run coil over / spring assist shocks in every one of my vehicles, even passenger cars.. I find it maintains ride height when loaded and maintains a smoother ride... Now, it seems that Gabriel discontinued most of their spring assist shocks, and those that are available seem to indicate...

Lube the seal and threads with oil, hand tighten (good and tight).... Never had a problem backing a filter off ;)

I have a 5 ton if you need help moving it.... My tow bar is in the 5 ton... of course, 70 mile round trip @ 5mpg + toll is not optimal but it's an option of last resort if you need help. The tow bar itself isn't an issue, I can run that up in my CUCV... Are you recovering it from JBLM tomorrow?
