    M1031 pto shaft removal help!

Well that's what I wanted to do but the bearings are supported by the frame it's self. The pto shaft is inserted throughout the bearing supports (aka through the frame) I can certainly get the pto bolts out. At this point the whole pto and shaft would be supported by the bearing mounts. I...

    M1031 pto shaft removal help!

I have decided to remove the pto shaft and rePlace with the cover plate until I need the pto... I didn't think this would be hard at all , but it is. I simple can't just unbolt the pto from the transfer case because the shaft's bearing are supported by the truck's frame. The pto belt pulley...

Injection pump throttle linkage bracket help

I just purchased a m1031 with a pto. My truck does not idle high then low. It just idles high. I recently purchased a tach so I know how high it is idling. My fast idle solenoid is not contacting the throttle linkage. I am obviously missing some part. I will post a picture later on the...

New M1031 owner with a NP205 Transfer Case Rebuilt question

Very good point the governor would probably throttle the engine unto 1800 rpm ... Regardless I'm not sure why it would be ok to run 1800 and not idle for long periods?

New M1031 owner with a NP205 Transfer Case Rebuilt question

Thanks for all of the great suggestions as for the transfer case I will follow your advice to clean up the shift rails with an Emory cloth and then lube them up with some 80/90 gear oil. I assume I should shift into the gear set that extends the shift rails out of the transfer case as far as...

New M1031 owner with a NP205 Transfer Case Rebuilt question

Nevermind about the twin shifter mod I did more reading and it says its possible to cause damage if shifted in to the wrong configuration (ie 4L front 4H rear). I'm def. not touching that one.

New M1031 owner with a NP205 Transfer Case Rebuilt question

Your right I did neglect to say the case was shifting hard and grinding. Once I receive the pto cover plate and gasket in the mail (I'll remove it and then we can work out a deal) Ill send you a PM. Would you want the governor box as well? What is your opinion about the double throw...

New M1031 owner with a NP205 Transfer Case Rebuilt question

What can you do with this pto drive? I may sell if I can find out what people use this for? Also why do you say not to touch it ... The transfer case is hard to shift and grinds quite often... I am sure a rebuild will help as long as the bearing bores are true

New M1031 owner with a NP205 Transfer Case Rebuilt question

I just bought a 1986 m1031 truck last week end from a Steel Soldier Member (Great Experience!) I had been ghosting on the forum for a few months researching and waiting for a good truck that was some what local. Long story short I'm in the process of changing all of engine/gear oil in this...
