    MEP-831a Inverter Overhaul

    The inductors / transformers usually go up in smoke when the capacitors dry out. If the capacitor’s boil over and blow the relief valve, then the thing just doesn’t work any longer, but it saves the iron parts. the drying out causes an impedance mismatch with the exciter coil.

    Wow, Panasonic ED Series, they had only a life rating of 3000 hours @ 105C and had a last ship date of June 30th, 2015 They are most commonly used in lower cost consumer devices. Data Sheet
