The newer gaskets have the metal rings pressed into the gasket. The older style has the rings that just sit inside of the gasket. Dont use the old gaskets, I blew the gasket in the same spot as you twice in one month. The new gasket has been holding up just fine. Jim

It is my understanding that there are four ground wires on the 003. One is the negative from the batteries, one is the generator head, one is the slave cable, and the last one comes from the panel. If I look at the back of the grounding bolt should I see all four wires at that point? Jim

I read the general TM for the MEP-003, but I would like to test the voltage regulator itself to make sure that is my problem. I would also be interested in fixing it myself if possible. Is there another TM I should be reading? Jim

I checked the voltage rheostat with a tester and the resistance changes in a pretty linear fashion when it is adjusted. I also when through and tightened all connections. The ground was pretty loose. I started it back up, and the voltage stays high and the rheostat has no effect on voltage...

yes, the ac reconnect switch is correct. I am getting no change in voltage when I adjust the voltage adjustment knob. Any other ideas, I was hopeing to get this generator up and running today. Thanks again, Jim

I understand everything except the transfer switch. How and why is L3-L1 selected and how does it differ from the other single phase position. I will have my electrician friend read this thread prior to a test run on the house. Thanks again, Jim
