Don't worry too much about the leg injury. You can get an M135 or M211 deuce with an automatic transmission. The later deuces are all manual shift, but the clutch doesn't require tremendous leg strength to operate. You could probably handle it okay on the highway where you can stay in one...

I can't attest to all M37s, but in my experience every M37 I ever drove had the light switch above the ignition switch to the right of the steering column. Every deuce I ever drove, on the other hand, had the light switch to the left of the steering column.
