It seems like I saw one pulled behind a CUCV. I have a M35a2 so I liked the idea of the wheels and tires being the same on the M832, but don't know why the 2 models were made. The M832 looks more HD, but don't know if one has better features, or quality than the other.
Thanks
Which dolly would be best to carry a S-280 shelter. Is the M720 better behind a pickup, and the M832 better behind a M35a2? Are the top speeds the same? Is one more inherently stable at speed? Appreciate your thoughts, on what to look for.
Yes 3.08 ratio. I'm concerned with the spline count, I didn't think about the backing plates being different. What are the differences? I found another 10 bolt 3.08 axle, but I don't know what truck it was originally in. After I buy one surprises are bad. Thanks
A friend had train horns on his HEMTT, and I can attest they were loud in a tunnel, as I was following, had to worry about falling rocks. He loved blowing those off too. He is a cop, so no worries there.
Well, I listed my M1028 on CL in Portland OR (in auto parts cause I'm cheap). Search all for CUCV it's the only one... if you want to see it. I do have a bridge plate that will go with it. $8250. I could clean it up a little more and take more pictures, probably this weekend. Appreciate your...
Even the originals weren't built that nice...they were mid 80's quality, but from what I have read, these aftermarket replacements don't at all fit right. What I would like to find(in a perfect world) is a place that would rebuild/recover the original, so it would go back on like it came off...
That sounds like a good deal especially if the generator works on your M1031. One of the requirements for the vehicles donated to fire depts is that they should be painted the colors of that accepting fire dept. Which is usually red.
I've been occasionally checking CL locally, and now expanded to adjacent states, but haven't seen anything. Either they sell quickly, and I've been missing them, or everyones holding on to them. I used to see some M1009's driving around, but not too many pickups. I haven't seen anything running...
I'm not up to date on vehicle prices these days, let alone CUCV prices. Except to know vehicles are way up compared to the pre-covid covid era. I tried to find anything listed on CL that was comparable without any luck. I saw one upgraded M1009 with M1008 running gear along with M1102 trailer...
Location is always important, but as a general rule, what are they going for these days, for one with no body cancer? I've checked CL in the PNW, with zero results, for any condition. I have a M1028, I'm thinking of selling, I want to get as much as possible, and can wait.
Asking for advice...
Are there any internal differences between M1009, M1008, M1028, and M1031? I've seen different numbers cast into the housing like 26, 28, 28HD maybe more, but I didn't know if one was better than another. If it came out of a CUCV are they all the same?
Thanks.
I've decided to re-use the one I have. If that turns out to be a bad idea, I know where to get a rebuilt one. As in Dirty Harry... I'm Feeling Lucky!
Thanks to all.
