    WA state cancelling MV titles

In WI, before 2014, it was impossible to get a title if you didn't have a title. Actually, a title was worth more than a car, i.e., like a '69 camaro title, etc. Then, in 2014, we went to bonded titles for vehicles without titles and all is well. Then in 2020, the WI DMV (DOT) became even...

    1950 M34 Model OC-54 REO Gold Comet

I did get a set of plates from Memphis Equipment. Very nice. They have a couple kits left. Thanks for the heads up, BaconFarms

    1952 needs brakes and things.

I had moved mine out back a couple weeks ago after picking it up from an auction. Yesterday, I noticed that I didn't have it quited in line with others, and my OCD kicked in. It had been down to 10 degrees, but it was 30ish. I put my foot on the started and after it started spinning I pulled...

Looks exactly like my REO Gold Comet 331, Just sayin..

    1952 needs brakes and things.

My 1950 M34 has a REO engine in it. And, from what I recently read in the Military parts manual, 12 volts would be correct, and mine is 12 volt. Mine has an air pump and the air over hydraulic brakes. Being that it is a gas engine with vacuum, probably was easier for civilians to convert to...

    1950 M34 Model OC-54 REO Gold Comet

Well I got the title back from the DOT today in the mail. Remember, the auction house sends in the sellers title which the buyer dosen't get to see, and it came back with VIN: M3494926. So, they combined the model with the stamp on the tag (which matches the frame), so I think that is all...

    Current M35A2 value?

I'm a bit late to the party, but, there is one in the Wausau or Stevens Point area of Wisconsin for aroung 6500, but he was willing to part with it for a trade with me for not that much value a couple months ago. He sent me pictures and it looks original Military, etc. It' a runner and he put...

    1950 M34 Model OC-54 REO Gold Comet

Thanks. I did see the bolts and thought about that. Man, what a job that would have been to double the frame. I won't be taking that apart to clean all the corrosion, LOL. But, I will make new plates for the spring pivot support. They are rust jacked out over a 1/4" and are a wee bit wavy...

    1950 M34 Model OC-54 REO Gold Comet

OK, thanks, for that information. I also checked the wheelbase at 169" and the truck has a double frame the entire length. The rear pin holes look like dump truck and look like part of the inner frame, and to me, from the "factory", i.e., day one, but it is 72 years old. Someone on here...

    1950 M34 Model OC-54 REO Gold Comet

I found the number, and it matches the data tag. Good. Now I wait to see what the title will say. Probably M3494926 like on my sales receipt. Which would be fine. Someone added the model with the serial number. So, the frame number is 94926, what does that tell me?? BaconFarms

    1950 M34 Model OC-54 REO Gold Comet

Well, I found a six, but too much paint for anything else right now, but I know where it is. Paint stripper tomorrow and a wire brush should bring it out. Thanks, BaconFarms

    1950 M34 Model OC-54 REO Gold Comet

Also, I did find a insurance card in the glove compartment from last year 8/2022 to 8/2023, so it was an active truck. For something. Under vehicle ID, it shows 4926, and then in pen someone wrote, 94926. Does that number make more sense for a '50 REO?? And, where is the frame ID i am to...

    1950 M34 Model OC-54 REO Gold Comet

The Eagle has landed... Drove it on the trailer at the loading dock and then after we rolled it down the tilt bed. Got it into third, LOL.. No Brakes. To include E-brake. I think they may have used that up in its later years... Farm truck. Actually came from a potato farm. BaconFarms

    1950 M34 Model OC-54 REO Gold Comet

Very good. That is what I had thought, but when you look at one and then look at another 100 miles and 3 days difference, they look simular... Thanks, BaconFarms

    1950 M34 Model OC-54 REO Gold Comet

I didn't pay a whole lot for it. And like you said, it's not a great candidate for a restoration. I have a small collection of 47-53 GM trucks, all 1-1/5-2 tons. I will probably take the steetmetal off and clean up the frame, etc. I like the idea of truning the hubs and making it single...

    1950 M34 Model OC-54 REO Gold Comet

I actually bought this truck to do something a bit different, but everyone around here, wants me to just keep it going as a military truck.... My buddy is showing up today. I think he might be on my side. LOL. With that thought, I do know where there is a nice (M135) cab w/doors. How close...

    1950 M34 Model OC-54 REO Gold Comet

I am starting to get it. I was looking at a M135, which turned out to be a M211, and basically had the same situation, singles vs duals, etc. LOL, BaconFarms
