Wolverine oil pan heater.. Anyone tried these?

I agree with Awesomeness. I have coolant heaters in all 3 of my M923. They work wonders, the engine literally doesn't make 3 revolutions and the truck starts. No ether needed. Also save wear and tear on your starter and batteries. When you plug a truck in, within 15 seconds you can hear the...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Be careful out there. At the beginning of the film, there was a furry sasquatch thing that jumped onto the side of the truck.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

$50-100 on the antenna mount. Would be interested in seeing the radio trays in the middle of the truck, as they are not that common either.

Found time to pick up a super nice mep-802a today

A little OCD is good in this hobby. A good MEP-802a will do 6250 watts, because they are under rated at a power factor of 0.8. On the subject of coolant, flush the unit once or twice with distilled water, then fill with 50/50 green antifreeze, low silicate. No additives needed, the lister...

    M1078A1 - Crank no start

Machinerytrader.com usually has parts listed, you might check there, or maybe with local forestry service. Sometime cash talks at those places.

    M923A1 Fuel problem... Won't start!

Cracked hose sucking air in between fuel filter outlet and injection pump inlet. Or how much fuel is in the tank? Maybe the pickup tube has broken and fell down into the fuel tank. Remove the fuel cap from the tank. Make sure the tank vent isn't stopped up with dirt dauber spawn of satan...

M923a2 clanking grinding noise from under cab? Transfer case or U joint?

    (2) 15/16" bolts hold the rear transmission mount in place, and there is a rubber resilient mount there. Crawl under the truck with a flashlight, look for any wear spots in paint that are fresh and rusted, anywhere components of the drivetrain are bolted into the truck. Could it be the...

M923a2 clanking grinding noise from under cab? Transfer case or U joint?

Does it make the noise sitting still, in neutral, revving the engine up? Have you checked for "extra" bolts/nuts/washers laying in the bottom of the bellhousing, being thrown around by the torque converter? Does the transfer case have oil in it? Is the oil pump working on the back of the...

Cross country moving with a 5 ton/ need suggestions

Pack all of the heavy bulky items in the M923, and use a civilian type trailer to pull behind it. Pack all of the glass/fragile items in a car or something that rides better. Plan on averaging about 400 miles a day, anything more will compromise safety and sanity. Wear ear plugs. Place "not...

Need 2 pallets transported from Blaine, MN to Wynnewood, OK

Purchased a M939 front winch kit, located in Blaine MN. Need it transported to Wynnewood, OK. Approx. 2 pallets with multiple loose parts, weighs 1300 lbs. or slightly less. If I can get it moved part of the way towards me, then that is fine as well. I can unload on my end with equipment...

    M35A2 Chip Truck

Or buy a deuce, or whichever mv you prefer, then buy a civilian dump trailer with tall sides to pull behind the deuce. Unhitch the trailer when not working, and use the truck for whatever you wish. In my occupation, $26k could buy a class 8 10 wheel dump truck. I have purchased 2 dump...

Lexus vs M931 bobtailed, got rear ended

I would suggest installing some strobe lights and a very sturdy set of HAY FORKS on the back of the next truck. Hate to see the truck destroyed, but very thankful your family is ok. The truck absorbed a lot of energy.

    Low Oil Pressure starts

Vibration. I forget which wire it was on my 802a, either an alternator wire or coolant temp sensor wire that did the same thing. I repaired it, extended the wire a couple inches and zip tied it off. Good job on self diagnosing.

    M939a2 Winch Control Tower Needed

I don't an A2 nor have I worked on one, so I could be incorrect about the winch spool valve cable length being different for a n A2. A seller on ebay named glistam1 has the spool valve winch control cable for $59 shipped. They are NOS. I haven't found a source for NOS pto cables at a decent...
