Bruce,
Thanks. I understand that is a risk. I also understand that there are most likely a lot of people that will bid on these trucks that never vist this web site too.
I'm hoping that since it is a non-turbo it may not be as attractive to most people. Thanks again.
Hey guys. I'm a newbe and I plan on bidding on an M35 at Ft. Drum. I would appreciate it if no one bid against me if possible. This will be my first Duce and it will be a project for me and my 73 year old dad who drove one in the army. It means a lot to us. It will be our project for a while...
Colonel,
A M135 was a duce and half model made in the 1950s. I had an automotic
trans and only six wheels (no duelies) instead of the 10 wheels like on a current M35. The M135 was made from the M211 (the M211 did have duelies) or visea versa. Anyway, it was said that the M135 was better in the...
This is driving me nucking futs!
Who's on first? Okay, Okay. You guys are killing me here. One simple question. If I keep my "stock" M35 wheels on the front right where god intended them to be when they left the factory but fliped one (1) set of all four (4) of my rear wheels per the published...
Matt,
Recieved and point taken. I'm kind of new to this so I did not know about the other threads. I should have looked a little harder. Sorry.
This must be a topic of great interest because of the amount of people taking part in these threads. That's a good sign. Thanks again Matt.
Okay. I'll just sneak back to my dog house with my tail between my legs. Sorry.
Hey, I'm just an idea guy. It's up to you guys to make it happen. I can't do everything you know!!
Someone raised a great question or had a great idea. Why not just use the A3 setup? They are a stock Supper Single design. Can the A3 wheels and tires be used on the A2?? That should take care of all the problems I think. Radial tires, no split rim (I think), good tire design. The only question...
Wouldn't flipped hubs do the trick to get everything on the same track?
Does this hold true for Budd wheels so I can get rid of the split rimed wheels. Can I get Budd wheels and flip them as a win-win or not. This is driving nucking futs!
Craintruck,
That is great information. Just what I was looking for. Thank you. Now if I can just get over how whimpy Super Singles look I should be okay. Sounds like singles with chains all around might be a pretty good set up. Thanks again! :D
Okay,
How about this then? Would duelys with good chains be better in snow and mud then the Super Singles with chains. Does anyone have actual experiance in this? I figure Super Singles are better in the snow but the duelys with chains might be better in the mud because they float a little. Am I...
Jim,
Thanks a bunch. I too am going to be on a budget. And I too want to get away from the split rims for the same reason and more. I'm just a young pup when it comes to this so I'm learning. I appreciate your help. Like I said I have been watching your story with great interest. Thanks again.
wallew,
Thank you very much. I'm trying to figure out what would be the very best for snow and mud for cross country travel and I don't mean road travel. Of course road travel will be what it sees 95% of the time but it's the last 5% that I'm concerned about. I want to be able to get where I...
Supper Singles
Are those the most agresive treads you can find for the Super Singles? Is it possible to get wider tires or is that it? I have been following your story for some time and like what you are doing. Thanks.
SF97
Warren,
Thank you. I wonder if it would be of any use to try to get GL to once again issue SF97s? There has to be a great deal of people very upset when they buy their duce and find out they can't get a SF97 or can not get it on the road. I know that the site says no SF97 but still... :x
