FYI, had a friend compressed and fractured his spine and was paralyzed from the belly for about 1month. Then he slowly developed the ability to walk with a cane but he is still walking 10 years later. So don't give up, God is good.
Prayers from Tennessee, growing up in FL I have seen my share of boat accidents. Glad hear your positive thoughts, it could always be worse. Praying for a solid recovery for your wife and uncle.
I'm in Christiana/Murfreesboro, TN but I am only familiar with the 939 series and know nothing about the sprag other than no one on here likes them. Where did you get your truck? How far was your recovery? I hate to think the sprag engaged on pavement but will be reading some of the above...
Replaced the one way axel vents with brass fittings and fuel line hose, ran them up to above engine level and capped off with a small engine fuel filter. I followed the break line to allow for axel articulation.
I may just rent a truck from Home Depot, my daily driver is a '04 Nissan Frontier. The Frontier would probably work, If I remember the TM correctly the 105 weighs around 1400lbs empty and I haul a pop up camper of similar weight with the nissan just fine (never in a hurry).
But for saftey...
My M923A1 has developed a front axel hub leak, i just discovered it yesterday when I noticed one drop on the inside tire below the grease fitting.
I won a M105A2 trailer about 90 miles (180 round trip) from my house that I need to recover. I've submitted my EUC and expect to be cleared for...
That is what I call a bad day. I've stepped on nails bedded in wood before but there was never enough sticking out to penetrate bone. You have the worst case of stepping on a nail I have heard of to date. Hopefully with the fragment removed, your recovery will be quick and with minimal pain...
Welcome to SS, glad to have you aboard. Keep your career goals and you should have no problem affording a cucv or deuce. Lots of great info available if you can get the search feature to work. The moderators are big on not starting new/repeat threads, this keeps the site clean and neat when...
Jeff is a great asset, he got my M923A1 inspected and ready for recovery. Drove it 800 miles home with no problems. Congrats on the good find. I hope my next is a truck like you found.
I spoke with a mechanic at Ft. McCoy about this topic a few months ago. He said he drove up on a scene where a F-250 rear ended a HMMVE and it killed the HMMVE driver. He said the frame is solid but the body is aluminum and a poor quality like " pot aluminum". He said he would never use one...
Contact a local Steel Soldier to inspect it. I paid $75 in Wisconsin. If you have some mechanical Skills and the inspector clears it, I would drive it home. I did my 1984 M923A1 truck 825 mile right off Ft McCoy base to TN. If you do drive it home don't be in a hurry and have a trucking...
I agree keep trucking, you will feel it if something is wrong, the fan wouldn't be cycling if it were overheated. Kind a makes me wonder if some recent maintenance included the installation of wrong gauges? 3 truck with the same problem.
Drive my M923A1 daily, runs 190 and fan clutch comes on when it hits 195 never gets above 195. Clutch comes on frequently on hot days even down the interstate. I don't think he would still be running at 260, probably a bad gauge. Try the fan clutch trick as extra protection but it should be...
