    unidentified towed object

Did the marines put aftermarket beds on M116 trailers? I'm the 1st civilian owner. I thought M116 had 8 lug. This has 5 lug M37 wheels, big Budd nuts like the deuce. I have 5 pages of old paperwork and a explosive sign in that can on the hitch. Says Trailer, Cargo. Paperwork says it needs to be...

    unidentified towed object

I got this UTO from the government. I think it was built for the military. It says it has a serial number, but I haven't found it. The paperwork I have for it says it cost $4474. I've has this trailer quite a few years and it has become rusty. I intend to sandblast it and repaint it. It was used...

    Lowe's Paint formula info needed.

I looked up the federal standard color chart and 34031 looks black on my computer too. If there is some green in there I can't see it.

    Lowe's Paint formula info needed.

I just got back from HD and they said my 34031 aircraft green must not be covered in their system, because it turned out black as in midnight black. I also got 34094 and that looked right, at least looking in the can. Anyone used HD for this code 34031? They claim a mistake is not possible, it...

    Aircraft Green, 34031

I went to Home depot and used the federal standard 34031, 2 gal behr ultra flat came out black, without a hint of green. I left it there. I know this is an old thread but the number shouldn't change, I didn't think.

    Fake CUCV M1009

I've thought about doing this, because I'm getting old and the real thing is not noted for it's creature comforts. I've seen guys put in AC, sound proofing, seats, stereo, ect, but I haven't seen anyone take an 84 diesel Silverado Blazer and add on all the military parts from bumper to bumper...

    Operating instructions for a M45 a2 530b

Once you provided the TM #, I found it on Jatonka's page and have been reading it as much as possible. Many Thanks!

    Operating instructions for a M45 a2 530b

I'm guessing the pump hasn't been used in 5 years. The valve that was cracked was on the bottom of the tank. The tank holds water now. I thought I could pump from the tank. If the pump draws air from somewhere that would be bad. I wanted to use the truck as a wildland type fire truck. I think...

    Operating instructions for a M45 a2 530b

I appreciate the info. I don't want anything to go wrong. I know not to run the pump without water, but not how it should be started. I'm sure it has been years since the truck has operated. I'm hoping the pump is still good, because the drain valve had a large crack in it from freezing. It was...

    Operating instructions for a M45 a2 530b

These are the panels on my truck. I don't remember a lever in the cab for the pump. I think mine is the road and pump handle. So I can move that road and pump handle with the engine running and the TC in neutral. Once in pump setting, I put the transmission in 4th and let out the clutch. I do...

    Operating instructions for a M45 a2 530b

I would like to know the correct procedure for pumping water from the tank. I have it full of water and want to see what happens. I want to make sure I do everything in the correct step. Something as simple as switching from road to pump I'm not sure about. Next weekend I'll be up there again...

    Bummer of a load out

Looking at the picture, the right rear corner looks bent down, but it must be the picture because it really isn't. I just wanted to add that I'm not a scrapper, I wanted only the beds, but the scrap went with them, without any options of leaving it behind. I had to take some scrap gates too. One...

    Bummer of a load out

The other bed pictured earlier I decided to pass on, because after unloading all the scrap out of this one, the floor looked better. I got it done yesterday before dark and got home today in time to get this picture. I only have time for one, but if it sells, I'll do the other later. My son will...

    Project m1010

I have heard they are hard to find, but what do they look like? Have a picture with some dimensions? Thanks

    Bummer of a load out

I cleaned the pine needles out. That tailgate is scrap. One bed side on each floor could be saved, but would need repair the others are rolled under tight. I don't know what can be told from this picture and the difficulty of removing everything might make me give up, but I think I'll give it a try.

    Bummer of a load out

I've been seriously considering saving the floor. Out here salt hasn't been used until lately and then only in certain occasions. That being said demand for a rust free floor may not be too high. The ribs in the bed show wear from ordinary use..... I'll get a picture. Thanks for the advice.

    Bummer of a load out

Forgot to add I did get a M1009 rear seat and a deuce tail gate with a nice bend. I hope my neighbors don't mind too much when I start banging on that tailgate!

    Bummer of a load out

They don't have any rust, but they aren't perfect. They were forest service use so they have some dings. I did get the troop seats which I could sell if there is any demand and some bumpers.

    Bummer of a load out

You win some and then you lose some. This one was a huge disappointment. I bought 2 CUCV pickup beds. They looked nice, they were listed as scrap, but I was responsible for loading, but when I got there they mashed and ran thru them with forks for my easy loading. they thought they were being...

1988 Air force deuce brake system rebuild

Rusty, Do you feel that these master cylinders are a weak point? Is that the reason you have 3? Thanks
