What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Added a seal to help keep water out of the engine valley. Just had my IP overhauled because of collecting water there.

HMMWV Hood Lift gas shock - anyone MADE one?

I had a couple of spare hood lifts for my 2002 Camry so I figured that they should work. It still needs a couple of reinforcement plates across the ribs on the hood, cleaning up and painting but it works great. Opens by itself after raising the hood about 4 inches.

Do all 6.5's have a valley drain?

Thankfully mine was just water standing!

Do all 6.5's have a valley drain?

Problem is I can't find the hole in the valley with my screwdriver and there's no way to actually see the tube on the back of the engine. Does the tube actually protrude out of the block a little? I only have a hole with the metal plug.

Do all 6.5's have a valley drain?

With the injection pump and intake off of my 6.5, I wanted to clear the valley drain that obviously stopped up and ruined my pump. But I can't locate it at the back of the valley. Looking at the left rear of the engine near the bellhousing/transmission, I found about a 1/4" hole I assumed was...

    Stock horn replacement

I installed new horns but they had 2 wires.

    Stock horn replacement

It seems like you need to insulate the horn from ground when you mount it. Connect 26a to the wire on the horn. Connect 25a to the horn body.

    Stock horn replacement

Use a meter to check which wire has power while someone is pressing the horn button. Make sure the switch is on.

M1078 Flat front tire with no help from CTIS

His tire didn't leak down as fast as the OP's. It would take a few days to go flat. The bolt wouldn't make it go flat.

M1078 Flat front tire with no help from CTIS

This guy had a leaky tire that couldn't be filled because of the bolt; so yes 2 issues. After putting in a banjo bolt it worked fine.

M1078 Flat front tire with no help from CTIS

I know someone who had the same problem recently on a fairly-new-to-him truck. After investigating, we found that wheel had a solid bolt from a 1082 trailer instead of the hollow banjo bolt in the airline and couldn't inflate.

    Engine fan

Have you unplugged your time delay module with the hood up, engine idling, to verify that the fan clutch is working? Watch this video. https://youtu.be/mfAG4rV-7Nk

    Engine fan

Completely normal. When I say " freewheel ", I mean it spins along with the engine due to friction and not the same speed as the engine as if it was engaged. If you have ever seen a 939 series 5 ton engine running with the hood up, the fan normally does not turn at all unless it's engaged.
