I made a deal on a Deuce winch and would like to see if anyone is heading my way that might could haul it.
The aprox 500 lb winch is located between Gettysburg and York, Pennsylvania. The current owner has a front loader to move it around.
The said winch needs to come south to the...
I use Shell Rotella. It is for diesel engines and still contains the additives the older oils had. I tired the 15w-30 and later went with the single 30w. It seems the oil pressure stays up better with the single weight.

Make sure you go read about the notes from Alpha Heaven about the GMC Transmission. Good stuff:

I picked these axles up from a surplus dealer for a project I have in mind. He was not sure what kind of trailer they came from.
Anyone know what trailer these came from?
If you are talking about the two windows for the front. Unfortunately they are not the same as the M35. GMC made them unique. Mine are rusted too. I found a guy who had some that were better but still some rust. The glass in them is cracked though and I will have to figure out how to replace...
Well it took awhile but I worked with the United Muffler guy and had them build a muffler. I had to go with a standard size that they have so the oval size is bigger than stock. The length is the same. Since there is a lot of room under the truck I don't think it will be a problem.
Their...
I have heard that the first 3 or 4 numbers are the contract number that the Government gave GMC for building a set number of trucks. So your truck was built under the 412 contract or 4121 and was possibly the 2486th truck built under that one. What year is your truck?
Anyone else remember...
I worked with the guy at NAPA and he called his DC to find out about ordering the airpack. What he found out is it is listed as a R&R which he says is you send in your core and they rebuild it. So if your core is really bad they will try to rebuild it but no promise that it will work out. He...
If you think the hood number no longer exists under all the paint on the hood, the Army repeated the number on the tailgate. So you might sand around on it to try and find it.
My truck has the number I can see under the paint of the hood on one side. The other side it is missing. I still...
Well that was interesting. I loosened the bleeder screw cause that would let air out and less dirt inside. Then I used the strap around the shoes to pull them in. Well they moved in some but not enough to allow the drum on.
So I started fiddling with the bottom adjusters. I had them...
We have not connected any of the hydraulic lines. We plan on purging the lines last thing before we connect everything. There is the plastic plug in the brake line hole of the cylinder. I had not thought that it might be tight enough to keep the pistons from going in. Hummm...... will have...
I am new to the M35 trucks and my son and I have been rebuilding his brakes. We have new shoes and have the rear axle done. With the new shoes the hubs fit really close and have to be lined up just right to go on.
I am working on the drivers side first rear axle. I have the shoes on and...
