    Another leaking hydraulic head

Haven't located a thin copper washer that will fit- gonna try to find some thin copper and cut my own. The leak is very minimal but needs to be fixed. I'll post the previously mentioned pics on the "what did you do to your deuce" thread.

    Another leaking hydraulic head

    Ok Keith, thanks!

    Another leaking hydraulic head

Bob, that's a great idea! I hadn't thought of that- cheap to do and nothing lost if it doesn't work. Keith, I really don't think there's a crack in the head- UV dye might be necessary if all else fails. You're explanation of the procedure makes sense to me now- you condensed multiple threads...

    Another leaking hydraulic head

Did the road test after torquing & re-torquing but it still leaks. Not as bad but too much to leave as is. Replacing the entire HH would solve the problem but that's expensive and that's a job way beyond me- seems to be lots of horror stories about replacing this "infernal machine"!!

    Steering swerving

This issue has been covered in several threads, but it basically involves removing the metal shim between the front axle and springs and turning it around. There may be some other shimming required but I haven't done it and can't remember the details. Search for related threads and you should...

    Another leaking hydraulic head

Thanks Bob- I missed that! I was reading until 2AM and had blood in my eyes by then. Back out to the truck with tools...

    Another leaking hydraulic head

The leak APPEARS to be fixed. After removing the screw I polished some rust off the sealing surface using 6000 grit abrasive paper. I was very careful not to alter the shape of the metal surface. I then cleaned off the mating surface on the HH using Q-tips soaked in brake cleaner. Next I put a...

    Another leaking hydraulic head

Well I got the delivery screw out and it was in TIGHT! I don't see any cracks anywhere- really can't see where it could be leaking from unless the metal-to-metal seal isn't working anymore. Is there anything I could put on that metal seal to "seal" better? Thanks, Mark

    Another leaking hydraulic head

Ok thanks everybody- I'll pull that plug out today and check it. I'll let you know what I find.

    Another leaking hydraulic head

Hey folks, I've read many of the threads about leaking hydraulic heads but I'm not sure which direction to start in. Mine started leaking on my A2 deuce yesterday. (LDT465-1C engine) The first photo shows a pencil pointing to the area where the leak appears to be. (At least in that area). I...

Spraying my M1008 with OD Durabak smooth

Dukeboy your truck looks great! Just wondering if its been outside yet and how is the Durabak holding up? You mentioned you sprayed on using a "1.8" tip- does that mean 1.8 mm? Thanks!

Hope this helps- let us know what happens! Mark

    Mysterious Oil Leak

If you used the Napa 1133 filter you need to use the Napa 5119 gasket. I don't believe the gasket that comes with the 1133 filter works for the A2 deuce.

    Another Deuce build...

You gonna put power steering in? Those tires look like a lot to turn by hand!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thanks guys! Helps to have the right tools- and some practice.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Built and installed an "up-armored" console/cup holder. Couldn't find one I really liked so I built this one which can be locked. Has lots of room inside and a removable bottom tray that reveals a hidden compartment- a place where you can store, well, "valuables"..

Behr Tan codes and General Painting Questions

If you want it to look good, forget the roller and brush. Spraying is the only way to go- it may take more time to mask things off, but it's well worth it. The actual painting goes faster with a sprayer and doesn't leave brush/ roller marks.

    Deuce gauges have gone loco!

Boy you're not kidding! I hope that's the end of it...
