I know the reason as well. I am curious as to what that bed was used for. Looks a little like a car hauler, in a way. I know it's not.

I believe all the official truck with the rings had the reinforcement plate. BUT that is not to say some mechanic was told to add on and didn't know to put the plate in. There is too much weight to run around without that plate. Search for the post about the cracked cab.

I would assume the it was update from electric to the air system, and left the electric there to cover the opening that would be left.

I might be wrong, and probably am, but I would think you would need some side to side play for off road conditions. Like going through the mud, both rear axles will not track through the same path, which would give all axles some grip.

The 211 is similar, only real difference is 10 tires on the ground instead of 6, and the wheel wells were removed.
