Took it for a spin today, I think I have air in it. Sometimes it has power, sometimes can't make it up a hill. I might drop the fuel tank next weekend and clean it too. That is what I get for letting it sit up. Thanks for the help and advice, everyone.
Update, I was able to use the WIX gaskets. I had to take the complete housing off and press them in with a box end wrench. Don't stretch them they are undersized so you can squeeze them in the groove.
Just left 3 parts houses, at NAPA we discovered the gasket part number for the housing (15211) is now obsolete. O'REILLY was no help and I stopped at a local big truck shop that sold Fleetguard, they looked at me crazy. So, maybe the spreadsheet needs to be updated at some point. There has to...
Frank, luckily the in tank pump works....for now....haha.
Gimpy, thanks! I will let you know shortly.
My dad text me at 05:30 to let me know my pick up truck tail lights were stuck on. I might get side tracked today.
Dang it! I missed that number, I didn't look into that one. I will check in on it tomorrow when they open. There was another gasket I think was a 2250 or something I found in one of my searches. That is what I get for losing my cool. I appreciate that!
Before everyone rips me about the search function, I did a lot of searching. However I do feel pretty ignorant asking this question.
Has anyone successfully used the Wix style fuel filter (33512) gasket that comes with the filter? The reason I ask is I tried to get the NAPA gasket but it is...
It will buff with some compound :D. I hate to see that, it's just enough to scare you but still enough to hurt your feelings. Glad you didn't get hurt.
I hope we get some good stories from this, I can't wait to do something like this one day with mine. I hope the new owner makes it back with a grin ear to ear!
Get you some dot5 brake fluid, a 3/8" wrench, 3/4" wrench, and a 7/16" wrench or ratchet/socket. Get someone to help you pump the brakes while you bleed them. You can at least see where the issue is. Start at the back and work your way up. It will take 15-30mins tops. Be sure to get enough...
I finally got mine running right (atf and gasoline mixed with diesel) and the brakes fixed, o have driven it over 70 miles this weekend. I took my nephew for a ride the come back and loaded the kids up, all eight of them, for a ride while the family was visiting. It was a good weekend!
Congratulations! She looks a tad run down BUT that gives you the chance to put your own personal taste on it. The best part is that you got one, now to get us some more pictures to see your progress!!!
Welcome to the forum!!!!!! There is an area for gen sets on this board, use the search function as mush as possible before you post your question. As your looking though threads remember that there is a lot of information on youtube as well, if you are like me pictures and detailed video is a...
Just touching base and hopefully helping someone when they search this issue.
I read and read on this problem as much as I could. My truck ran fine before it sat for two years when my pops owned it. When I got it the idle was a mess, just watch the video on post #1. I added some new fuel...
