    Draper UT pickup questions

I am in the process of getting an M1078 out of that yard. As far as any attempts to get it moving under its own steam, there's no chance. They just want you to show up ready to drag it away, and get it out of their hair. On a side note, know of any wreckers that could help me get this thing on a...

    Draper UT pickup questions

Finally got my cert, and looking into shipping. Got a few bids out, but figured I'd check to see if anyone had any trucking recommendations in this area?

    GOVPLANET/USMC latest EUC times?

15.5 weeks and counting here. Mine was sent to the TSC a couple weeks back at least, but still nothing in hand.

Nah, just another member in the ranks of the EUC Waiting Army. 3 months and nary a flicker. Hoping to see something this fall, at least ... fingers crossed!

    GOVPLANET/USMC latest EUC times?

I pinged them since I hadn't seen any changes, and their answer was pretty much "shut up and wait". Took them about a month to even glance at mine, and they didn't update the status during that time. I'm definitely experiencing just how slowwwwww the process is myself, so hang in there. As...

Essential Tools to have for an FMTV? Add your .02

Thanks for the input! I'll have to investigate this route as well. The idea of onboard carrying is quite appealing. How often do you find you have to charge them if they've not been plugged in?

Essential Tools to have for an FMTV? Add your .02

Had this thread bookmarked for a while, and wanted to put my own summary on here, to get some clarification on a few items. Hats off to coachgeo for putting this thing together, but there were some specifics I still would like to clarify. I've included some size ranges on those I could find...

Woof. Well, at least I'm not the only one. May your cert come soon!

    GOVPLANET/USMC latest EUC times?

In the absence of the venerable Jwade, are there any insider resources lurking around here in this regard? Just asking as I noticed GP is not even indicating they've received the EUC I emailed to them a few weeks back. Figured it was worth checking just in case. Otherwise ... back to the waiting...

    Draper UT pickup questions

Thanks for the info! I believe I found the yard here, correct? Speaking of HEMTT's I was going to ask if this was you, but the color's not right ;-) Good to know on the POC/location for pickup. Are they pretty much interested in you showing up ready to haul it off, or is there any wiggle...

    Draper UT pickup questions

Did some hunting in here, and found a few older posts from the GL days around Hill AFB, but given they do specify on the listings between Hill and Draper (mine is listed as being in Draper), if anyone had experience with that yard/facility? Namely, curious to know about any pickup procedures...

Yeah, was mostly happy to see the shafts were still with the truck, and not pilfered. Speaking of, the amount of bits and pieces still on the truck was impressive, as you say, so I'm definitely happy to have snagged this one.

Yeah, at first when I was going through the listing, I saw the part about the drive shafts being removed ... fancy my surprise when the next photo showed them in the front seats (un-bent if you can believe to too)! One of the reasons I decided to go for it, that, and it's only about a day's...

Unsure on the EUC, was simply part of the required process when checking out my final invoice. Good to know on the rebuild, that definitely makes more sense. Just did a quick bit of digging on the subject of rebuilt LMTV's, was this the process you're describing...

First of all, hats off to you guys for existing, definitely would have had a rough time without the data goldmine that is this forum. But to cut to the chase, I'm now the owner-in-waiting of a 1997 BAE Systems M1078. Non-runner with 2007 miles on it, so curious to see what got blown up in...

    New M1078 owner

Yeah, no real surprise given the workhorse status of these trucks when on duty. I've noticed a very large percentage of bent drive axles and other signs of being beat like a rented mule. I'll have to keep that in mind. Fortunately, it seems major parts for these aren't too hard to come by...
