I had thought about that at one time. Decided that I'd probably be more likely to fab something up with materials on hand than
find an available gun support. I still hope to build a rooftop rack, but like many things... it's now back on my future project list.
Keep us posted as to your...
Ha ha!! You sound like my wife and kids!!! They tell me that all the time! rofl
 Still, there's a difference between thinking something out... and... over-thinking.
I hear you though... and... I do agree with what you're saying. Thanks! [thumbzup]
Well, I was... but given the negatives, I'm now developing other options (like dropping the idea completely). ;)
I appreciate all the posts and ideas. [thumbzup]
This image explains a lot.
The departure angle (with the spare mounted in the rear under the tailgate line) is something to...
Yup... that's exactly what we're planning to do.
I wish I had more time to get things done, but where I am working on the deuce in South Jersey, the rain

I wonder how the Navy mounted those spares? Maybe they used a...
Given the weight of a spare tire... and what seems to be an already 'heavy' front end, might it be dangerous
to mount one under my original winch? Keeping in mind that the winch already adds additional 'bumper weight'
#that a deuce without one does not have to worry about#.
My measurements...
My main reason for the extra 'mounted' spare location would be to secure an additional
tire, closer to the ground, during my roadtrip from NJ to AZ. I've never planned to keep
a spare in the rear (as the photo shows) except maybe during a long 'highway' journey
similar to the one I'll be making...
