Looking good. I would say that it looks more like a M817(dump) then the cargo series of 5 tons. The dump has two small square fuel tanks, while the cargos have a big rectangular tank. The grill, hood and cab look wonderful........

I-75 and I40 though the gorge is the way to go. I 26 over martins gap can be hairy. The TN side is steep and curvy, but the NC side is a long straight shot down the mountain, and you can lose it very quickly.

Depending on the day, I might be able to recover it for you.

I hooked mine to the rear winch of M936. Tied the trailer to a nice sized oak tree, put a little pull on the lunette, banged the hitch 3 times, and the lunette jumped out!

The cooling system is so large in comparison to the engine, the thermostat will cycle, even with a 180º. Get a laser temp gun, and check the temp at the top and bottom. You should see at least a 30º change in temp.
