I'm working on getting my truck ready for inspection. My wipers work but very very slowly and am in the process of changing the lines, they aren't leaking but very dry rotted. Is there any lube (maybe air tool oil?) that I can use to get them moving a bit faster or do I need to replace them? Thanku
I started mine (it was 25°) and happy to say it started almost instantly. I also just realized the previous owner did the fuel bypass that everybody's talking about all the time on here. Which means I think I need to add some gauges that are not installed keep it safe. So some research as an...
Thank you everyone for the replies, I do think it's more than a gauge issue as when the needle bounces to the green other gauges go nuts. The oil pressure gauge and fuel gauge peg all the way up. I will look for loose wiring, etc. over the weekend. Thanks again I will let you guys know how I...
I just went out to start my deuce and a half has it hasn't been run in almost a week. I turn the power on meson the battery was in the yellow and I went ahead and started it up. It started just fine and the needle remained in the yellow for about a minute, all the other gauges looked normal...
Thank u. I ordered a 13-16" square drive as I have the dual 1 1/2 and square in one and couldn't see any way of doing the job with it. I hope to dig in to the drum over the next few days. From what I can tell I need to remove the cover, seal and bearings first in order to get to the wheel...
Hey all I managed to get some work done on the deuce today. I managed to get one pair of wheels off. The only problem I had....... well in reality I had lots of problems but they were poor planning and bad luck. Anyhow the problem I had was two of the budd bolts are stuck on the wheel as they...
I really appreciate all the replies. I think I'm going to go the traditional route and take the wheels off. It looks like I should be buying some seals, grease and gaskets too. I read the tms regarding the job and it really requires some parts removal. I just want to get my truck so it's safe so...
This sounds like an interesting idea. How does the axle get removed, via clip/retainer removal in the pumpkin? Or are they retained some other way and splined or something? Thank you for the idea.
I'm a stubborn newbie to larger vehicles with a lot of shade tree mechanic experience on normal civi vehicles looking for advise. I have a leaking wheel cylinder rear passenger side. I have an adequate jack and will be purchasing some 6x6 lumber in place of jack stands per the advise of a fellow...
Installed a remote brake fluid reservoir and repaired/replaced a leaky fuel hose. Got depressed when I realized the previous owner didn't use dot 5 brake fluid 😥
Sorry I've been away for a spell, work has kept me from playing much. I'm hoping to post a few more pics. There is also an add on gauge in the cab that isn't hooked up to anything but measures pressure from the looks. The hinges are poorly welded and look home brew to me
