Some follow-up to my Duke antenna install. I picked up a pretty good SWR meter and here are the results. Much better than I was expecting, especially given it's a pre-tuned antenna and it's inside that thick tube.
Thanks to member Shackelford R I finally got some antenna whip elements that actually screw together.
I moved the whip over to the driver's side and the Duke over to the passenger. The whip even tied down was hitting low hanging branches along the roadside, so moving it to the left side away...

Discussing oil and filters are like discussing politics or religion.
I asked anyone to cite any authoritative source that the filters I bought were less than ideal and I see several posts talking smack, but no answer to the actual question.
Now we've devolved to veiled personal insults...
I don't use Fram oil filters (Mopar for the Jeeps and Purolator for the M1009) but for $2.60 I'll chance it. These are also the 'tough guard' filters and the can is silver, not orange.
I'm totally guessing, but either some type of fiberglass or plastic. Working from memory I recall seeing a spun pattern on the unpainted inside of the tube like I would expect from fiberglass, but then I also remember curls of plastic where the sheet-metal screws attache the lid to the tube...
