    12v headlamps in a deuce

If you really want to use 12v bulbs Radio Shack sells digital voltage regulators. Use one for each bulb. If the regulator alone can't handle the amperage the regulator can control a Selenium Control Rectifier that can. The finished assembly will be smaller than a pack of cigarettes. Cost...

Think my Injector Pump is shot

When I had a similar problem it was loss of fuel pressure to the IP. You must test the pressure at the pump. I would not be happy with pressure below 3 psi. I like at least 5 psi. If pressure is adequate, at the pump, the rest of the fuel system, upstream, is working correctly. e

What is an S280 shelter? Is it one of those that have the Gichner proprietary hook up? If so I have the mobilizer for it... I think. Send me a pic of the connectors on the box and I can tell you if what I have should work. I am near Tysons Corner Center in Va.

    Code Enforcement

When the govt started charging "real estate taxes" actual ownership of real estate ended. By their charging tax/rent you don't own it anymore. When you don't pay your rent they throw you out and get someone who will. It is exactly the same with "ownership" of real estate. It's called economic...

Think my Injector Pump is shot

If I remember correctly that is the Roosa-master/Stanadyne injection pump. They are prone to several types of internal failures. One of the most common is a plastic ring attached to the fly weights in the governor assy. It serves as a shock absorber. Typically tiny pieces of it get stuck in the...

M35A3 rear wheel bearing packing, with photos

Great info and pictures from jstier . My cousin has been making bearings for nearly 30 years with American Roller Bering in NC. I have background in metallurgy myself. A "simple" bering is actually quite complex. After reading this I'm glad I didn't buy an a3. e

M35A3 rear wheel bearing packing, with photos

There are industrial suppliers that specialize in bearings and seals that may be able to get you the parts fairly cheap. There is one here in no. va. that has bailed me out many times over the last 40+ years. Recently I needed a special bearing called a "cam yoke roller". It is a special type...

    coolent heater blowing cold air

After you have driven the truck until it reaches operating temp the hoses to the "cab heater" should be hot. If they are not hot after verifying that both valves on the 2 hoses are open then the "heater core" could be plugged up. To clean this stuff out you will need to disconnect both hoses...

m1022 dolly pickup needed Fort Meade MD

I did bid against you. But I previewed it first. Your unit will not be useable for a while. The hydraulic lines from the jacking pumps are rusted out. The hydraulic cylinders will need to be removed and cleaned as they are very rusty. It appears it was being repaired, with non OEM parts, when...

m1022 dolly pickup needed Fort Meade MD

I can bring it here, near Tyson's, this week. Further down the road later. Would rather do it wednesday after thanksgiving though. Let me know if it has to be done this week.

I will be out of town from next tue. till the following wed. Unless you get your EUC back real soon there should not be a scheduling prob. Justin may be able to work with you on that anyhow. I don't have any mil manuals on this unit. I have meddled with mine and think I have the operation...

I have found SILVER BERING SOLDER takes to copper based alloys very easily. It is available at Radio Shack.

Moving your new toy I bought one there. The tire that is low appears to not be flat. There is air available across the street from that drmo. When you go out the gate at 77 rock av. there is a gas station just to your right. The little shack has air. I am near fairfax circle. I could move it...

    Code Enforcement

There is always some one that wants to run your life for you. Like the members of an HOA. It seems to me that HOAs attract the worst stalin like types around. I believe you can put a restriction on your land title that will prevent it from being brought under the influance of an HOA...

Phase Angle Meter (Power Factor Measurement)

Just a note to surplusHQ. On the ship I was stationed on the starter on one of the 4-71 diesel gens wouldn't work. The electricians considered closing the cross connect switch to see of the alternator would act like a starter... or not. No one was sure if the gen would be destroyed... or not...

Why is taking 12v from one batt bad?

If you are not going to use large load devices, and don't really want to install extra equipment, you can get IC chip regulators that can reduce the voltage to what ever you need. Make sure you use regulators that can handle twice the load you need. Once assembled these devices can be installed...

    Finally have a 6x6! M-817 from SD

I have one of these. I think the bed lock down does not come on these because the bed "powers" up and down. Thus it isn't moving unless the engine is running and the "raise/lower" lever is pulled. Within 6 months of getting mine I pulled my neighbor's large dump truck out of the ditch in...

    oil priming engine?

Oiling it up When I worked in an engine installing shop for 2 years (Dr Motorworx) we always removed the oil pressure sender/switch and used an old lp gas cylinder and adapters we made to force the oil in through the sender hole. Keep the inside diameter of all fittings as large as possible...
