    Anybody ever put a 353 detroit in a m37...

You will love the sound until you have to live with it. How do I know? Living with Gama Goats. They cause long term hearing problems unless you religiously wear good ear protection, It depends where you live i suppose, but that one in the video wouldn't get 500 feet without getting pulled over...

Needing so tech help on potential command car acquisition and restoration

Its unfortunate just how many of those trucks were butchered. The 3/4 ton is more desirable by far IMHO. The tailgates interchange between the 1/2t and the 3/4t. The same cannot be said for the sheet metal. The body of the 1/2t is taller as it is pre "low silhouette" which the 3/4t versions are...

Casual Military Vehicle Show El Cajon, California

Is this still happening? I would like to attend. I know a couple of others that may be talked into it too.

    Working on the M38 next.

The motor is NOT a WWII block casting. It has the serial pad above the water pump. WWII have an oval pad on the right side of the engine at the front just below the deck. Is the serial number still readable on the pad? There is a chance of it being a Willys post war replacement engine. The...

    M37 Wiring Harness

I drill a small weep hole in the side of the contacts and solder them to the wires rather than crimp.

    M37 build your own harness

    I think so! Good luck.

    M37 Wiring Harness

Its not that hard. It might seem daunting gut I bet you could do it. Can probably talk you through it tight here. Metal shelled connectors (Douglass) or rubber shelled (Packard)?

    M37 build your own harness

Yeah, that one will work but it won't have the coupling ring you are used to seeing. Now that I got you close, number wise explore, you might find all the exact parts.

    M37 build your own harness

I did some more digging for you. Since I work at one of the largest mil/aero connector companies in the country I might be uniquely able to navigate mil-spec part numbers. You want something like: Mil-Spec Connector 4P SIZE 22 PIN PLUG STRAIGHT MIL-C-5015 (face pattern 22-22)

    M37 build your own harness

I have a new one in my hand. Unfortunately, there is no number on it that represents the complete connector. There are numbers on each of the three metal portions, the plug barrel, the coupling ring and the compression fitting on the back. The barrel is: AE8701309 The coupling ring: AE8701325...

Anyone know the right air cleaner elbow?

yeah, Probably not. I guess start at the front and see whats amiss. The hood is a fized length so that distance cant change between the fire wall and the core support. You do have the right radiator in there, do you not? It goes completely into the nose, the back of it is flush with the core...

Anyone know the right air cleaner elbow?

There are actually four elbows for 3/4 ton wc,s, one for the Zenith and three for the Carter ETW1, 929848-1, 929848-2 and unmarked. Using the unmarked one with an early aircleaner works in early firewall WCs

    Stuck valve

Mine came out of long term storage after a depot rebuild (20+ years). It ran poorly when I got it started. Compression test showed two cylinders with 0 Psi. I removed the head and yep, there they were, 2 exhaust valves stuck open. I tried to gently tap them down to get them moving, but no luck...

    M37 build your own harness

Well...what is your plan? To return it to its full 24V glory? If so then you need the military turn signal switch and the matching 24V Military flasher. I would suggest the later style that uses solid state electronics. The early one used a fairly complicated relay box to direct the signals...
