I'll be down from Canada, first Gilbert show for us!
Looking forward to it, hopefully see some familiar faces from other shows.
Looking and interested in all things M274 Mule, especially 4cyl stuff and 106RR mule specific items...

Yes, I am in Ontario.
No issues with import.
Declare it at Canada Customs with Bill of sale in hand.
Don't get long winded explaining what it is and the history- they could care less.
I simply called it a mechanical wagon for off road or farm use.
They will look at it, ask a bunch of questions...
The difference in price between a runner and a non runner can be thousands. I can never understand why a guy will insist on selling a non runner using the tactic that it only needs this or that and ran good. If thats the case, spend a few bucks and some time to get it running.( which should...
What is really cool aside from the Jeeps is the halftrack photos. In one of the photos, there are several HTs beside one another. What is interesting to me is the HT on the right hand side. It is a International Harvester. There is a distinct possibility that that is my old halftrack! My HT was...
I read somewhere that the survival rate of motor vehicles is somehwere in the 15 to 25% area.
Several years ago when I had my M37, I read somehwere that of all the M37s ever made, there was a conservative estimate that concluded that more than 50% of them still survived. That was less than 10...
I concur in the use of hand sigs. I work in a hazardous environment in the power utilities sector. We do installation and maintenance of large power electrical transformers. This usually involves heavy lifts in live stations, high value equipment and several crew. As I am assigned as rigger on...
I have 2 PRC-77 radios. They were bought "as-is" but apparently work, or are supposed to...
I have fresh batteries for them, NOS antennas and bases and a used handset for each.
Both radios will fire up, volume controls work, lights light up etc.
I have tried to transmit with both, using the...
Dave Kelone stocks a lot of parts and there are a few others around who dabble. Ebay is a source except that they are usually inflated prices, the odd time a deal may come your way. Bill Watsons successor will be up and running soon from what I have heard.
Standard timing light will work but you need to make or purchase an adapter.
Adapters are not hard to make from an old spark plug wire or you can buy one from a parts supplier.
Hi
I picked up a M274A5 at the end of last summer. I too, am a novice. There are lots of great mule owners out there that seem all too happy to help a newbie out. G503 Forum has a large mule community.
I knew next to nothing when I jumped at the chance to buy mine. My main guidelines came from...
If I can hijack this thread, I am also looking. I am located in ontario Canada, looking preferably within the Great lakes states within 500mi of Toronto.
Does anyone know the modern equivilant in a maintenance free type battery?
I am looking for a series number that is close to correct as possible in size and location of terminals etc.
I have come across an origianl marking on my M274 mule. It is USMC and painted on the gas tank.
it is the number 2235 and has a v mark under neath and above (inverted) the number.
I think that different regiments or bases perhaps used these as identifiers. I would like to learn where and to whom...
A guy that occasionally does some paint work for me is a body guy. I first saw him do this process on a Dodge Dakota pickup on the rear quarters.
He actually used an air seaming tool that provided a 3/8 or 1/2 recessed lip along the edge. He fit the panels inside this lip so that the sheet...
I have recently aquired a M274A5 mule.
It needs to be stripped of paint to bare aluminum.
What are my best solutions for doing this?
I have used sandblast in the past on steel but knw it is very agressive on aluminum.
Should I be looking at soda blast or is sandblast OK with the correct sized...
