    M35A2 Frozen Air Line

Just plumb in an alcohol evaporator before the wet tank. I installed a Haldex A72420 clone on my Deuce. It gets extremely cold up here in MI and I never have issues with frozen air lines on her. Time-tested, simple, cheap, effective....

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2022 - January VOTE HERE!

Thanks @kendelrio ! You've put in the time and sweat on your Bertha as well and she is a beautiful rig!! I never intended my trucks to be museum pieces or boulevard cruisers when I got into the hobby. I wanted them to be good drivers and lookers but still be fully functional and capable of...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2022 - January VOTE HERE!

Probably beating a dead horse at this point with the vote lead that Bertha has but my REO will go down swinging! She has come a long way in a short time and I am very proud of her. Here are some additional things that I've accomplished so far on my old girl...with some before and after pics...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2022 - January VOTE HERE!

Now that I covered the finding and recovery part of my Deuce's story here are a few more "as found" pictures of my girl... Lots of dirt, sand, grime, lichens, peeling paint, surface rust, missing parts and almost 70 years of use and abuse. No wipers. She had been converted to electric wipers...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2022 - January VOTE HERE!

Here's my old girl when I laid on eyes on her. Looking sad and forgotten, tires sinking in the sand, lichen-covered and badly peeling paint. But even with all that I could see she had a lot of potential... Having grown up in Lansing, Michigan I was ecstatic when I climbed into the cab and...

MV of the Month January 2022

OK...Since my own 5-ton cannot possibly compete with @kendelrio 's (his Bertha is just a little toooooooo good looking!) and a one-candidate race is no fun, I nominate my old Deuce this month to give Bertha some (hopefully) healthy competition. She may not be as visually impressive as our...

    M34 Active duty

Jon No worries if they are 6V, 12V or 24V. You still have my interest in them. I will either install a step-down converter and dedicated circuit or add an appropriate battery to my Deuce BII during the winter months if it isn't 24V.

    M34 Active duty

Yeah, I can't take credit for the road salt humor...another member here on SS coined and trademarked that phrase and I've stolen it shamelessly on numerous occasions ;) But, I have to say, I certainly do appreciate the heat and defrost on my 5-ton in the winter. It works amazingly well. But...

    M34 Active duty

Cool! Never ran across those before. My Deuce is a no-heat/defrost girl so those could be interesting to add to my collection of accessories since I operate her during the winter as much as I can as long as there is no "Truck Destroyer, Granular" or residue from the same on the roads. Jon, PM...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Sorry @hgun. I hope someone has a pigtail stashed away for you. $185 is a lot. This is a great opportunity to remind everyone here...especially the non-professional drivers (like me)... Always, Always Always!!!!!

    M923 Many Small Improvements

Thanks @Mullaney! Red vehicle interior instrument and task lighting still feels "correct" to me...even now after all these years since it really mattered... Yes, the bed has held up well. We like the Rustoleum Farm and Implement paint and with the proper prep and dry time, it always goes on...

    M923 Many Small Improvements

Looking back at some old pictures and reminiscing I realized there were a couple more small upgrades to my big girl I forgot to mention earlier... Probably the second non-mechanical thing I did to her was to rehab her bed. Adding the array of extra exterior work lights was #1. The front...

    M923 Many Small Improvements

Oh yeah...forgot I added a rear-view camera as well - but without the fancy TMG overhead :p

    M923 Many Small Improvements

I've been slacking on posting up many of the small updates I've been doing to my big, beautiful girl over the last couple of years so I'll blast several of them out at once. I added small mud flaps for the front tires. My intent was to control some of the rock-slinging from the front G177's...

Driver's Wiper Control Location Mod For My M923

This is probably something very minor for many but resolved an on-going issue for me. The as-designed placement of the drivers' side wiper switch requires you to reach awkwardly (IMO) behind the turn signal lever and the associated wiring harness/cannon plug. Trying to turn the wiper on in a...

    My M813 gets a turbo!

Super video! The turbo sounds fantastic! It just "fits" the truck. Excellent work on this entire project.
