I know you said it would be a hassle, but I'd put it in the front simply because you can disengage it with a switch, that way you wouldn't have to constantly let off the gas around turns for the back wheels to unlock.
a better option than that would be to sell them both to me.
For the guys that don't off road often, but would like the added off road capabilities of a locked diff, would welding the diffs and running 1 desplined hub while driving on pavement be an issue?
From what I've read, even having a Detroit locker is rough on tires/drivetrain/etc.
I'm starting...
I know this is an old thread, but ive been doing some searching and I cant find the answers im looking for.
I know welded diffs cause premature driveline wear, but if I welded the rear diff in a bobbed truck, would it not wear stuff as bad? Do you all think that the lower weight and less...
I am strongly considering an electric winch install on my 923 for emergency use only. Obviously a juice winch would be better, but the install of one on a w/ow truck is a big undertaking. With enough strap, shackles, a couple snatch blocks, and a little patience, you would be able to get the...
Did you ever get a picture of where this hole needs to be punched? I'm posting for a buddy of mine who is trying to get his truck road ready and we hit a snag trying to get it out. Any help is appreciated.
Im helping a buddy of mine get his recently acquired cucv road ready. if you turn the service switch up, only the headlights come on. If you turn the switch down, only the running lights and blinkers work. I think the service switch is bad, but before he gets a new one is there anything I need...
I don't think getting up to 500 hp would be hard at all. A p pump swap, injectors, and turbo, and you're there, but these trucks are so heavy, when you start putting up that kind of hp, I think something is going to snap in the drivetrain. These trucks are tough, but they are not race cars.
Installed more lights over the weekend. These are 6" drx light bars from blackboxlogistics.com. They are a lot tamer than the 50 and can be used as driving lights.
I did the fuel rate adjustment detailed in the video earlier in this thread. I turned the screw in 3 1/2 turns and its perfect for me. From idle if I punch it ill get a puff of black smoke for about a second until the turbo spools and then she cleans right up. I can dedinately tell a difference...
Here's a thread I posted that has some pictures of the light bar doing its thing.
