    2016 SoCal Spring Rally

There actually are safe ways to weld up fuel tanks, and the fact that we're dealing with diesel fuel instead of gasoline is a huge help. Old timers used to empty and pull the tank and then run a hose from the exhaust of another running vehicle into the tank to displace any dangerous fumes while...

M-35 Frame Dimensions and type of steel

I drilled six 1/2 inch holes in my frame when I installed a receiver hitch. I don't believe the frame is heat treated, but it is good medium strength steel.

What is it, very strange 151 ?

It looks like someone made a 1/2 cab pickup like a Jeep Scrambler. Whoever did the work did a professional looking job. This thing would have to be light duty, or the M151's rear suspension would bottom out.

    M109 Box Removal

I'd unbolt the tail lights and let them hang down. I saw a post where the cases were cracked when pulling the box off to the rear.

    High Miles

49200 miles divided by 23 years equals 2139 miles per year. Remember that MV speedometers are notoriously easy to change, so there really is no way of telling how many miles are on the vehicle.

Console between drivers and passenger seat on M1009

I bought an aftermarket center console at Pep Boys when I had my M1009. It attached to the carpet I had installed with Velcro. It was even the same burgundy color as the seats and dash.

    1965 m43b1 w/381

There should be a latch on the inside at the rear of the driver's door that releases the spare tire mount so it will open with the door. At least that's the way it was on the M37B1 my dad owned years ago. I like having the spare tire on the door. It is a lot of extra protection in the event...

    M934 question

I'm sure it's not over 13' 6", the legal max before permits, but it could still limit where you could go with the thing.

    M105 cover question

Should be OK. Just check on the tarp in your rear view mirror to make sure everything is OK.

WWII Converto 1/2 ton airborne dump trailer

A rental yard in Riverside, CA had one of these in their rental fleet a few years ago. It was rough, but still going out on the road at least every weekend and still earning its keep.

Bang when turning too sharply in 4WD

Excellent explanation of what happens during a turn. This is why full-time 4WD systems have either a differential or viscous coupling in the transfer case.
