    700R4 Boondoggle

I am in the process of a 700 swap too. The ORD spacer referenced above is undergoing a design change. As of this week it will be changed so that no trimming will be required. For those of us intent on using our Chevy 3R front CVs this is good news. The first batch, mine included, will be...

The painted articles. I will post pictures of the treys installed in the future.

Sense I will be doing a turbo conversion, I decided to go with 2 34/78 Optima's, one on either side of the engine. This pattern is somewhat more convintional and provides me the room I need for the turbo and breather. You may be asking, OD, Why did you waste your time fabricating battery...

I accomplished a few things in the last couple of days. I finished out the fuel system and did the 12 volt conversion. I still have a bit of fine tuning to do. The finished dual fuel filter mount, with a heavy coat of Rustoleum Rubberized Undercoating. The mounted setup Pics of the butchered...

Yeah, it seems impractical (aua) to mount a fuel filter under the breather, on the back of the intake to me. The primary is a water seperator too. I believe they are 12 and 6 micron respectively. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I will have a little more on it after final install.

From what I can tell, it was used for a radio/scanner, or the like. There was a metal "tunel", presumably, for wiring leading to it (visible in a few photos). This truck has a civvy top on it. I beleive it may have also a large antenna at one point. If you look at the photos of the rear bed, you...

As promised, better pics of the floors. I only had about three hours to work today but I got a few things done. I did the final mockup of the fuel filter braket and applied a coat of self etching primer. I removed the battery treys and started the prep work on the inner passenger fender...

Yeah Rix, that is what Josh told me too. The mount is non existant on mine. My truck is an '86, I don't know if that is the difference. Either way, I'll do a writeup on it when I make the mod. The floor needs some repairs and reinforcement anyway, so I will lickly do all of that while the tranny...

I also did the DH relay mod today. I don't mean to mod the Mod's mod but I added my own touch. I prefer to pull the plastic off the crimps solder and apply heat shrink. Say what you will, but I never have faulty connections. This makes them very tough and moisture resistant. By the way if...

cHucv Soup: The animal to be

I removed the Stanadyne fuel filter unit today and started on the custom mount for the dual filter setup. This was used in 82 and 83 civy 6.2s. The factory locations are as follows. The primary goes where the CUCV element mounts. The problem is that the secondary goes on the back of the intake...

cHucv Soup: The animal to be

I am robbing a lot of parts off of the civy dig, including the interior. Gear indicator (need D321) visors rear seat passenger seat side frame assorted hardware gauges I robbed all of the relays and sensors May use the top I really like the passenger side seat setup; more accurately my wife...

More pics. The TV cable bracket. A bunch of unbolting, pulling, and tugging and expletives. It is harder to remove an engine when you have to cut nothing and save everything. BTW, That little 6.2 is heavy. If you pull one be sure your hoist and stand are up to the job. The little diesel...

cHucv Soup: The animal to be

I tried to get some anatomy pics of the Civy 6.2. Feel free to employ them as you wish. I have more views if you need something specific. I hoped to get a few of the TV cable installed but that thing is hard to get a shot of.

New Production 6.2L/700R4 TV Brackets (Interested?)

I am not familiar with the HMMWV Brackets. Are we referring to 700R4 TV or just brackets in general? If/when they play ball with the TV bracket I/we may want to approach them with others.

New Production 6.2L/700R4 TV Brackets (Interested?)

I don't know about titanium but I bet they could do 3/8" Moly. [thumbzup] Thanks for the reply Recovery4X4. I don't know if I would have bothered doing the conversion if I hadn't happened upon the complete setup. I have been known to stalk around a salvage yard from time to time, but finding a...

New Production 6.2L/700R4 TV Brackets (Interested?)

I find myself in possession of the rarely seen, but often mentioned 6.2L/700r4 TV cable bracket. There is a local company that is capable of fabricating them here. I might be willing to submit mine for CAD mock up. Before I approach them, I want to know if how many people would be interested...

A little sanding and painting completed. I need to build the custom spring packs and do the plumbing, then she'll be ready for here temporary home. The tranny swap is going to delay the diff install though. It is as pretty a 28 year old rear-end as I have ever seen, I think.
