    AVM Lockout Hubs---Any Failures?

I have had the AVM hubs on my trucks for several years. Work fine. No problems. Has anyone experienced a failure on one of these yet?

Whats your thoughts on spin on primary and secondary fuel filters?

Just changed the primary filters out. Took maybe five minutes. GLAD I did!!! The drainage looked like 10 wt. dirty motor oil on the newest deuce. The other had some crud but the filter was much more clean. I am going to change out the secondary filters on the newest deuce , just to be sure...

Whats your thoughts on spin on primary and secondary fuel filters?

Glad this thread came along. I bought two 33405 primary spin on filters to put on the trucks tomorrow. The trucks are not driven a lot, but they both had partial primary filters when bought. I suspect if there is crud in the fuel the new filters have had enough time to need changing.

Whats your thoughts on spin on primary and secondary fuel filters?

When JT came out with the spin on oil filters I bought them and loved the ease of change and the instant oil pressure. Seemed like a really good idea. He later came out with the spin on primary and secondary fuel filters. After my experience with the spin on oil filters I figured it might be...

    Odd electrical issue??

I got tired of dealing with grounds that did not. So, I went to Grainger and bought new Inside/Outside star washers and put them on every ground I could find starting with the front signal lights. Each time I have had a problem since it was with a wire. Every time.

Oil all over motor, where should I start looking?

I use my deuces so little that I use the two charge SCA filter. I did it mostly to eliminate the crud build up from the coolant. I had not seen the OAT stuff until recently, but I decided to stick with the cheap green stuff and the SCA.

Oil all over motor, where should I start looking?

I put on a coolant filter kit to remove the crud and to add the Special Coolant Additives to the coolant. I change the filter once each year. One deuce really had a lot of crud when I got it and the filter really shows it. The other deuce usually shows very little crud when changed...

Thank You To Cranetruck and JT--A BUNCH!!

I cannot thank you enough Bjorn. I knew nothing about the electrical wiring or what to do until I read your posts and asked questions. You never failed to respond with the right information. You are a truly great asset to this website.

Thank You To Cranetruck and JT--A BUNCH!!

I am approaching six years as a member here. Lots of fun since that time and lots of learning. Two members have been kind enough to show me the way in maintaining and operating my two deuces. First, was JT. John Tennis directed me to the AVM lockout hubs and later to the spin on oil and fuel...

Deuce Over Heated Today. Low On Coolant?

It is more complex than that now. I refilled the coolant. Started it up and watched the slobber of the excess coolant the truck likes. I do my best work with a beer in hand. So, I sat down and started it up. I watched the slobber fest for a few minutes, maybe half a pint at max. Then...

Deuce Over Heated Today. Low On Coolant?

After perusing the TM's it can be only a few things. First, a head gasket leak is possible. Second is a cracked head. There are no signs of leakage elsewhere that I have found. The only other possibilities, assuming the fluid drain continues might be a leak in the water manifold gaskets but...

Deuce Over Heated Today. Low On Coolant?

Ya know I was kicking myself for not doing that. I got up too late to get two trucks ready for a parade and did not do a complete inspection. It is much easier to check the brake fluid with the remote BF reservoir now and that made me lazy.

Deuce Over Heated Today. Low On Coolant?

It was not in water, more sand silt. The pickup was being driven along the waters edge when it hit soft silt. About six years ago we had major flooding and went through five feet of water on several occasions rescuing people from the tops of cars and such. The front bearings were soaked. It...

Deuce Over Heated Today. Low On Coolant?

I have not checked the coolant in a long while. And, it might mean a new set of head gaskets. I am watching it now and since it is used mostly for parades it will be while I suspect before I figure out anything.

Deuce Over Heated Today. Low On Coolant?

My kid drove it to the Red River a week or so ago and went down into the river to retrieve a pickup. I know, crazy. The trip was about 200 miles. I suspect the highway speed, the fight to get the pickup unstuck, is that a word, and such caused it. It is not in the oil. That is certain. I...

Deuce Over Heated Today. Low On Coolant?

Never mind. I added 14 quarts of coolant. I suspect the over heating problem is over until I run low again.
