JP310 Chrome Free Etch Primer and JP33X 2K Urethane Sealer could be a solid combination. Primer surfacer is an option but should not be necessary. If you want to reach 100% maybe think about the surfacer. Just thinking and discussing from my experience. If I would do another new paint job I...

Rick, which anti-rust primer will you use here? Take care.

Rick, if you like you may send me the Blackout Light switches including the wiring. I would really appreciate it. Are you ok with that?

What did you do to your trailer today.

I did the same - no results, no success. A good friend of mine changed the shocks on his trailer and they fitted perfectly. So I just did the copy and paste thing. Tell me if you need the correct part number.

What did you do to your trailer today.

Installed new monroe shocks to my M101A1 today. The old ones were just a little bit wasted.

Maybe one of the very original 1983 Goodyear Wrangler tires should be honored as spare tire in the M1009. One original tire the CUCV was born with back in 1983. This could be a unique item - just for historical reasons, not recommended for driving.

    Arrived...........the M1009/BIAB1 from german M1008

There is an option for a lighting? Nice. Didn't know that.

A dog is an essential part of the family. Sorry for the painful loss. He had a german name. It is Hänsel or Haensel in german. He will never be forgotten and this is a great honor. Very nice and clean work on the M1009. I like it very much! Rust needs to be afraid of CUCVRUS. Take care.

In the meantime the M101A1 for the „build in a barn M1009“ gets some little but important details. No half work.

    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

Dirt and dust always beats rust for sure. A dusty and dirty undercarriage can easily be cleaned if the surface underneath the dirt is free from rust and well preserved. And that is what really matters. A well preserved undercarriage free from rust. If this M1009 gets wet, dusty and dirty again...

Great progress, Rick. This is the best Christmas gift a man can get from a busy beaver. Imagine someone is very lucky and smiling right now writing this reply 😃 thank you! Good times! Happy new year!

Can you tell more about the new axles front and rear you installed, Rick? Are they the stock ones or are they different in any aspect and specification? Merry Christmas, busy beaver!

Does anyone need a nice set of stock leaf springs with good bushings? They are 37 years old but as good as new. Rick, this is gonna be a "build in a barn" masterpiece Kampfwagen. So happy to see some progress. Thank you.

The Line-X color can be customized I think. The standard black color looks a little bit too glossy and shiny for a CUCV. It does not match the flat CARC paint. FS 34031 Helo Drab should be a better choice. It is a dark grey. The US Army AH-64 Kampfhubschrauber is painted in Helo Drab...

I always use Fertan as rust converter but you need to know the process of how to apply it. Here is a short and simple video by the producer that should help. And here is a link to the rust converter: https://fertanusa.com/products/fertan-rust-converter/ Most important thing is to remove the...

I think this Reformer just slows down the rust process but does not stop it. Take care and relax the rest of the day.

I really advise you to apply rust converter before sealing, priming and painting (LineX). Sanding will not remove the rust in the little pinholes. I always use „Fertan“. A german product. Easy to apply and very effective. Not applying rust converter would lead to failure.
