    Can anyone id this tranny?

The Acme T98 fitted to M37CDN trucks behind the 251 uses an Acme PTO. The difference in the US and Acme ptos is the idler gear. The idler mates with the gear in the transmission. Your pto has the helical gear to mate with the transmission and the other gear runs into whatever is in the pto...

    Anyone ever swapped steering wheels???

Originals are available from Mid West Military, or you could consider the Snake River 4x4 power steering option and use the Flaming River column. Original replacement is easiest.

Vin / sn location on m37

If its possible that your truck is an M37CDN, check for an 8 digit serial number stamped into the drivers side frame just to the rear of the back cab mounting bracket. CDN serial are all 914#####. They also stamped the CAR number on the top of the drivers side frame rail between the bumper and...

I went and looked an an M152 yesterday.

I looks to be in pretty good condition and a good start to any restoration. The link I posted above will give you some idea of how they looked and were used in service. Some had a 'penthouse' tent with an aluminum frame that was attached to the rear of the truck when set up. This gave an...

I went and looked an an M152 yesterday.

Here is a site that might interest anyone with M152CDN afflictions. http://www.signaltelecom.ca/M152%20I.html JD Ballie put this together and has a lot of contacts across Canada for bits and pieces. His truck is at the Ashton Armouries in Victoria keeping the other green stuff there company...

    Canadian ACME trans toast!

That's a great price. Out here on the west coast, we are beginning to see more parts trucks or power train swaps. This means some original parts are available. Unfortunately, rust is common and the body stuff isn't good. A few of us are trying to keep them away from the scrap yards but missed...

    Redi Sleeve Shifter Shafts

You can hop over to G741 and either search or ask the question. They are all about M37s although some of us lurk here too... Can't answer you question but know someone there will. Juskatla

    Transmission PTO Cover

The cover is a standard SAE 6 bolt cover, found on many applications. The one you found would likely work. As an alternative, any driveline supplier will have this and the gasket. Jess

    Thermostat by-pass missing

They do normally have the bypass elbow. I am not aware MWO that would have done away with that fitting. They are the same on most Dodge engines so finding one shouldn't be too difficult. Jess

    Canadian ACME trans toast!

Just wondering how you made out for parts on the Acme trans? I can't find it now, but somewhere on the G741 forum there was good info posted about parts available for the T98. I also have a couple of t/o Acme trans if your still looking. My quest is for an ACME PTO idler gear for Bill Anthony...

What is attached to the front of this M37?

CDN Front Mount Derrick Kit [URL="http://www.g741.org/photogallery/main.php?g2_itemId=6511&g2_imageViewsIndex=1"] This is the same truck shown on the Ram Tanks CFR link posted earlier. Jess Edit I tried to post the pictures but I'm not sure what I did wrong. Sorry but links will get...

Right hand mirror with Fuel can?

Right Hand Mirror Mounting All Canadian trucks had the right hand mirror mountings which is one of a few improvements made to Windsor, Ontario produced trucks. As already mentioned, John Bizal has reproduced them and they work with the jerry can mounted. I think you could make a bracket with a...

    11" 251 clutch needed

MF 300 Combine Its a long shot, but I understand that the MF 300 combine ran the 251. That might give you a place to start. Also, the old Tucker Sno Cat models had Chrysler 251 before they switched up to 318's. Don't want to send you down a rat hole, but might give you a toe hold. My CDN...

M37 A frame Photos CFR There are a couple of old photos here showing an A frame setup. I've seen a few 'bubba' versions too but this looks original. Jess
