    Mep 803a Voltage Adjustment

i think you could crank that knob all the way eaither direction and it would not matter to most modern appliances. New electronics are extremely flexible in voltage Also note that some new electronics switch automatically, so no wire change. Just something to think about. and no it’s not bad for...

    MEP-803A smoking under load.

A little is normal under heavy load. Let’s see a video of the blow by? That’s why the manual for the motor says to change the oil every 125 hours when used at anything over 10KW. Soot builds up very fast In the oil when overloaded From blow by, even new LPW4’s do this. Are you sure your not...

Generator MEP 803A problem “over voltage”

I would also start by doing the above.

    MEP-803A smoking under load.

anything over 10KW for long periods isn’t good. The minute you saw the unit begin to smoke consistently (a bit after 10KW and surly by 13KW was when you have started to overload it. Just because it’s made to run at up 15 KW in cold weather doesn’t mean you should do it. Lol I’m still using and...

    MEP803A Over Voltage

Sounds like corrosion to me. Honestly still sounds like something is dirty.

    mep gen sets

As long as you can get It up to 50% load for 4 or five hours of run time out of each day it’s used these units won’t wet stack.

I'm not seeing where I am wrong...Info Please!

I would bet those wires are fine if the insulation’s still intact. Also wires don’t usually overload and burn in the center of the length of wire. They will overload at the connection first, then work it’s way to the center. the way your wires look is like it was from something touching them...

Are they brittle? Does that part of the wire feel different than the rest? It should be obvious if the wires are damaged in person. these pictures make it hard to tell if it’s just dirty wire or burnt. Burnt wires are not normal!!!!!

Mep 802A and Mep 803A oil change interval

Hi I just wanted to let everyone know that if you are using the genny’s at full load, you will need to change oil every 125 hours not the suggested 250 hours for regular use. I’ve proven this with oil samples. When it’s under full load, it kills the oil much, MUCH faster than at 50% load. These...

I'm not seeing where I am wrong...Info Please!

If you have concerns about Reliability, I would have two good running units that you went through. That way you know you have every part possible for a repair or just a set change the chances of both quitting on you would be almost none in my experience. These units are very reliable when...

I'm not seeing where I am wrong...Info Please!

Dang brother those pressures are normal. These units are made to not run at a constant temp. The temp changes with load 180 no load and almost 210 full load and when your temp changes oil gets thinner. Oil pressure is in the thirty’s without load and as low as what can look like under 25 psi on...

    MEP 806B Troubleshooting

I would start buy cleaning and inspecting ALL the electrical connections. There’s bond to be some dust and corrosion causing gremlins or about to.

All three of my 803A’s have under 200 hours on the motor and will run in the 20’s when a loads on them.

    Mep exhaust insulation? Mep 803A

That’s exactly the type I was looking for. Also I just learned that you have to wrap the mineral wool pipe insulation in aluminum tube that McMaster sells to match. That’s the only way I have found it being done professionally. Here’s a pic for example of what Im looking for. Anyone use any...

    Mep exhaust insulation? Mep 803A
