I just come in from checking the Gens. I cleaned all terminals, belts are tight.. I put a volts meter on gen 1 ( drivers side) and its putting out 31 volts, Gen2 27 volts. But at the batteries ( either one at Idle) I'm getting 12.7 ... I did notice that as soon as the key is on that gen 1...

PS do you know if Gen 1 and 2 alternators are the same? also If I take them to a shop and have them rebuilt is there anything special they will need to know since it is a mil vehicle?

Gentlemen, I was driving home today and Gen 1 light just came on . It hasent had any issues , its starts fine etc . But Gen 1 lite stays on.. Cables are clean and tight , Your guess would be??? Alternator?? also I found someone with a used 6.2 running but knocking , is it worth $75 .00 ...
