    Engine block cracked

Thanks Bill. I was debating trying something like that, wouldn't hurt for now. I'll post pics tomorrow of the truck and the crack. Truck's in great condition, parting it out really isn't an option for me. I'd rather sell it as is if I had to.

    Engine block cracked

So I drive the Deuce about 200 miles yesterday, get home and while tracking down an oil trail (thinking it was the loose dipstick), I find a 4 " trail of coolant about an inch forward of the data plate on the right side of the block. I don't have a pic of it, but it's in the middle of solid...

Fair asking price for a deuce

Yeah, I bought it from that guy... Joe Czarnik... plus the cover. After I got home he asked for some pics to put on ebay. He had a heap of covers in his shop to sell.

Fair asking price for a deuce

Just so you all know, the turret hasn't been installed, and will be sold separate w/ accessories. All the metal on this truck is straight, tires only have 3000 miles (they still had the hairs when I bought it). I repaired the fenders, but you cant tell unless looking from underneath. If anyone...

Fair asking price for a deuce

Guys, I may be selling my Deuce and looking for what some of you think would be a fair price. Here's what I have.... 1973 AM General M35A2C whistler, it's not originally a winch truck but I put one on which has new seals in it. The PTO is off because it needs new seals. It's 686 Tan ( I...

    Napa oil filter o-rings alternatives

I'd go for replacing them. I did my oil about 2 months ago and reused the seals, it leaked everywhere. It started about 10 min after I started it. Luckily I was letting it run to check for leaks and not on the road. I reused the fuel filter seals too, and never had a problem. It's hit and miss...

    Non-whistling whistler...why?

Thanks for the help guys, who knows if I would have caught the difference... anyone know if the gasket between the turbo and manifold is something you can get at NAPA or Carquest? So far i've only seen kits with those in them. Also will be looking for info on buying or fabricating the cab...

    Non-whistling whistler...why?

Does this go with another motor? Seems to work fine for me. Would like to get a C for the sound.

    Non-whistling whistler...why?

The exhaust end is way different than a C now that I look closer, but doesn't really look like a D either... would this be good or bad to have this one if it's not either?

    Non-whistling whistler...why?

    Non-whistling whistler...why?

If anyone has suggestions on this I would appreciate it... I've had my Deuce since the summer. I never really looked into which turbo it had installed, just knew it didn't have the sound of a "C". After starting some work on the truck, I looked at it and guess what? It's a "C"... I only hear the...

How are you storing your Deuces? (Plural)

Mine gets backed down a driveway thats barely wide enough for the truck. My yard is mostly enclosed by trees so, nobody really can see it, at least for another month or so till the leaves fall. I've got several redneck neighbors that think its the coolest thing since sliced bread and one wierd...

    Crank front oil seal

Hey guys, I'm looking at having to change the front oil seal on my Duece, the one pressed in to the timing cover. It pisses everywhere and gets a little worse each time I drive. Any tips on doing this? The TM makes it look pretty straight forward. Also the P/N I have is 10912514... Anyone know...

Anyone know what this place is?

RE: Re: Russell Military Museum Thanks for the help, I definitely want to make it up there in the next month or so. Wouldn't mind finding something interesting they're willing to sell. It looks like the south west corner is fenced in and has lots of goodies back there. Not in any kind of order...

Anyone know what this place is?

Driving back from Wisconsin a couple weeks ago I passed this place up... It's right next to I-94 (west side) at most a 1/4 mile into Illinois from Wisconsin. I found it on Google Earth trying to confirm what I saw. Looks like the have trucks, UH-1's and other helicopters, maybe a pair of OV-1s...

    Using Jet- A

Thanks Greg, i'm definitely planning on using more oil with it. As far as water in the fuel, once I get a pump for the drums in the garage i'll just keep the suction pipe from resting on the bottom by a few inches and put a good water filter on it.

    Using Jet- A

I'm trying some jet fuel in my Deuce. I can get Jet-A from work, waste fuel drained from aircraft. It's not waste because of contamination, just because the FAA won't let us put it back in once it's been taken out. One of the guys runs it in his '04 F-250. He mixes 1 QT Marvel Mystery Oil to 40...
