    Wierd Start-up

I haven't started up the Deuce in a couple weeks, so I decided to warm it up since its been kinda cold lately. When I flipped the power switch, the low air buzzer didn't sound. It has always sounded off before. The truck was a little slow starting, but started fine. The batteries seemed ok...

I saw that giant skateboard on Interstate 44, near Vinita, Oklahoma this morning around 0800. It was HUGE!

Well, I blew it up on the way home.

I changed the sending units finally today, and the sending unit were the same. My oil pressure maxes at 30 psi, and will occasionally drop to less than 25psi. What is the normal psi? The engine still runs ok.

Well, I blew it up on the way home.

It stays pretty steady, idle or driving. It has been closer to 30 than 20. The sending units look to be the same, but I will try to confirm with mech gauge soon. Do I have anything to worry about? The motor runs well with little smoke.

Well, I blew it up on the way home.

Well, she's a runner! Got her running and took a test drive about an hour ago. Engine seems pretty tight, oil pressure was above 20 psi, but less than 30 psi. That is a little lower than I prefer but everything else was good to go. Ran up to 50mph/2200rpm, I was to gun-shy to go faster, I...

Well, I blew it up on the way home.

Yep, the tractor just wasn't strong enough. It may have lifted it up of the ground, just wasn't hoss enough that high up. It is a MF tractor 40 hp, with a loader. Used a backhoe to load the new motor on the trailer, and I had a local wrecker lift it into the truck ( and remove the old one).

Well, I blew it up on the way home.

UPDATE!!!!!!! I picked up the new bullet (engine) from combst32 last night! Just 6 hours of driving thru severe thunderstorms and rain, heavy traffic in Fort Smith, a small exchange of US currency and it was all mine.:-D This new motor must be a different model from the one I had, since this...

Well, I blew it up on the way home.

Well today I spent the day getting ready to pull the engine & trans, and when I went to lift it out, my tractors front loader wouldn't lift it high enough, so now I have to get a stronger lift. That engine is alot heavier than the small block chevys that I'm used to.:o

Well, I blew it up on the way home.

Nope, no steam or odor, even after popping. May never know what went wrong.

Well, I blew it up on the way home.

Ok, in the interest of full disclosure, I have around $2000 in the truck (including wrecker bill) and it is my first MV. I wanted to get one from GL, but the recovery scared me, so I bought local. Remember, I had only drove the truck for less than 7 miles when it grenaded, so the water...

Well, I blew it up on the way home.

There was a little noise, that I thought was in the upper end. The truck was very low on power and the temp was around 220, it shuddered and boom. Part of the piston came thru the block, and just looking thru the hole, the bottom end of the rod looks intact so I suspect a wrist pin or...

Well, I blew it up on the way home.

Yeah, this was the CL truck, MikeW. And I thought it was a decent deal at the time. The truck is in really good shape, otherwise. Everything works, except that small hole in the engine block thing!;-) Tom, I sent you a PM.
  18. roadwarrior

Well, I blew it up on the way home.

About 1600 rpm's, and yes, it still will start & run, but the oil pressure is a tad low!;)

    M35a2 engine problem

Actually I was on a shallow downgrade, holding at 1600 rpm's when it went. I guess she was sicker than I thought! I posted a new thread about it blowing up, and added pictures.

Well, I blew it up on the way home.

I had hoped I could limp it home, but just 7 miles after picking up the Deuce it spit out a piston. I knew the truck had a fuel problem, was missing and real low on power. I was cruising along at 40 mph (top speed), and had noticed the temp was just below 220, so I was planning on pulling...
