What did you do to your deuce this week?

These valves let the moisture out, they are also heated with their own thermostat so that the moisture does not freeze in the winter. I still need to wire up the heater.s The idea of these is that they let the moisture out when it builds up instead of having to crawl under the truck to do it. It...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

The clip unscrews. Just a little safety on the key in case the key pops out while driving over rough terrain. First time using this setup, although it looks great, not sure how it will hold up and since the key is outside the cab I want to be sure it doesn't go anywhere unexpectedly while...

I just got a VIC-4 System, there are some VIC-4 crew boxes up on Ebay. It uses all the same cables as the VIC-1 but the VIC-1 crew boxes are not compatible. Now I just need to figure out how to interface some Newer VHF / UHF radios with the VIC-4 Box :? VIC-4 Crew Box

What did you do to your deuce this week?

That's what I thought. Maybe the oil filter canisters came off of another Deuce and that could be why they were turned around the other way so that label couldn't be seen. Next oil change I plan on upgrading to the spin on filter.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I changed the oil today Everything went pretty smoothly but ****, is there any way to change the filters without getting oil everywhere  When I took the filter canisters off I saw this on the back side. It was facing towards the engine so it couldn't be seen. I looked at the FDC and not...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

They have their own thermostat built in so no switch needed. They will be wired directly to a 12v fuse panel I will be adding. They will be hard wired to the 12v system I'm adding in (24v to 12v converter and fuse panel). They have their own thermostat so they will be directly wired to the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

They are 12 volt and I haven't set up the 12v converter yet, need to acquire a few more parts. Hopefully that will be done in the next few weeks. It will certainly be done before it gets cold enough to need the heaters on the Drain Valves. Still need a fuse box, some heavier wire /...

    VIC 4 (?) Questions

I don't know if the same setup for the CB interface would work with the Motorla CDM 1550 or if it would need a different set up. I'm technically challenged when it comes to electronics. I am also asking if there are military or military looking antennas in the VHF range of 136-174 MHz and a...

    VIC 4 (?) Questions

I am looking at what is listed as a VIC-4 Intercom System, NSN 5895-01-144-5995. Other than a few references to the VIC-4 I can not find any real information on this system. From what I have found so far is that it is similar to the VIC-1 but can handle 4 radios, utilizes the same cables and...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Today I added a remote brake fluid reservoir. I put it up by the side vent above the dimmer switch. It was a pretty easy install. I wrapped the hose with a piece of old garden hose as a chafe guard. All went well but after install but I discovered that I had some leaking where the tank clamps...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Went to change the fuel filters yesterday. Pulled the primary out, there was a lot of crap in the canister. cleaned it out and when I went to put the new filter in (Wix 33511) I realized that the end holes were way too big. So, I cleaned it up the original the best I could and put it back...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Good to know on the flasher control, thanks. I'm hoping to have time to look it over tonight otherwise I won't get the chance till Monday. I did notice one of my blinker lights had a blackout buld in it. I have replaced it with the right one. I'm going to check all the other lights as well.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I'm thinking it's either the Flasher Control Unit or a bad ground. They were working prior to driving it home last week. By the time I got it home they were not working. 2 days later they worked fine. Took it for a ride yesterday and when I came back they were out again, but at least I had brake...

    Deuce driving tips

Great thread. Here is something I just learned in a CEVO course for Fire Engines. When stopping behind another vehicle at a stop light, stop sign, etc. Make sure you can see the back tires of the vehicle in front of you and a little bit of roadway. This keeps you from getting too close to the...
