    Locked rear axles

Lockers are great but one thing to be very aware of is that if you are on a side slope with lockers you can slide sideways downhill very quickly if all the wheels slip it happens very fast and can lead to lots of trouble very very fast. Eddy

Hello again troops I am back for another winter. I am in Apache Junction for the next few months and would love to do a coffee or beer with anyone and get a MV fix while I am here. I have a small collection at home but nothing here so already am in withdrawal. If anyone is interested in getting...

M135 and M104 in Canadian Service

They entered service about 1952 and were still used in the Militia units until the late 80s. Almost all of them were made in Canada and had the auto trans. I have only heard of a very few with manual transmissions and almost all of them were the fuel or water hauling trucks. Eddy

Broke Down in Billings Montana - Need to find a shop that can replace wheel cylinders

Glad you have found some help and that Wallmart is letting you stay. I was broke down in Billings many yrs ago in a Motor home and the local Police came to the Wallmart parking lot and told me there was no overnight parking and that I had to move it or it would be ticketed. Differences between 1950's 60's and 70's deuces

I am 8000 miles away from it now but I am pretty sure my 43 CCKW and my 45 DUKW have the same strange shift pattern as my 71 Jeep 2 1/2 ton. If you want a real strange shifting experience start out in low range and shift to high in a Unimog. Eddy

    Engine oil??

I like Diesel rated 15/40 in just about everything for summer and then 10/30 for winter. Please do a net search on ZDDP and its lack in modern oils now. Lack of this additive can cause catastrophic damage to older motors that have roller cams. Again do not take my word for it do some research on...

Any way to make the tracks last longer?

OK last fall I bought new tracks and have them stored untill one or both of mine break but wow at over 3K with shipping and duty and about 1500 miles in a set of tracks that adds $2.00 per mile to operating costs for this thing. I know they are just costly toys but again WOW. I think it will...
