Thanks for all the info. I have plenty to google and research. Getting 12 volts is easy - I'm running a 12 and a 24 volt alts using TM Americas kit.

Sorry for the confusion. I don't know what I want so I asked for input/advice etc. I want bright as I can for as cheap as I can. 12 or 24 volt - don't matter. I only assumed 12 volt would be easier/cheaper. I am head light challanged and only want to be schooled.

If I use 12 volt lights I don't need to drop the voltage. I already have 12 volts on the truck. I was just looking at ways to turn them on and off. Now that I've asked for some input and ideas, I'm looking at some other ways to go. I want something brighter than stock, yet not blue or...

That was me and the idea FAILED. The winch was too SLOW. It would have taken a month to get the ATV in the bed. I tossed it and installed a cheap HF 3000 lb 12 volt winch in the same spot. Works great now.

What is the cost on going that way?

Now that I have LED tail lights and turn signals coming cheap, I think a head light upgrade might be a good idea. I looked into 24 volts LEDs and I don't want to spend that kind of money. I'm thinking about going 12 volts. I think the selection and prices are better on the 12 volt side...
