Help to a friend on a grand reopening.

Good deal......I'm going to use my M927 as a draw for my Alternative Fuel Fest this coming weekend. I'll post pics too.

    Alternative Fuel Fest

BUMP Just a reminder the event is this weekend. I already have several people showcasing alternative fuels. There will be at least 2 MV's there.....my M927 and a deuce.

    5 ton tractor oops

You should try loading the Power Unit of an M48 (without the trailer) up a set of ramps onto a stepdeck. The first time I did it my "O ring" achieved a "Pucker Factor" of 10. You couldn't have driven a straight pin up my butt with a 12 pound sledge hammer.

M971 trailer recovery from Nashville TN

Don't feel bad....my M915 didn't do a lot better......those are heavy bastages to pull. Too bad you're not closer.....that beast would look good next to my van at the GA Rally.

    rats........ broke my j-pipe

Unless you can find a muffler shop that can work with larger diameter pipe that may be difficult. I had problems when I put a muffler on my NA M275. There are big rig shops that can do it. Most of the time when you get to larger diameters you have to use the band clamps to join the pipes together.

    DRT A3. Theories anyone ?

Could be sucking air in the line between the tank and the injector pump.

    Alternative fuel fest

BUMP Just keeping the thread alive to remind folks the event is still on and everyone is welcome to drop by and visit or bring an MV or alternative fueled vehicle. If you have a waste fuel collection and/or filtering system to display that would be a plus.

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

Soni.......if you want to load the FEMTT up on the M920 and bring it to the GA Rally in Oct. I'd cover your chow for the duration. Your custom rigs would be the hit of the show.

    M929 Off Road Ability

Do you need the dump capability or are you going to haul cargo. Any cargo truck would work depending on your mission. The 900 series has the advantage of an air actuated front axle so you can put in the front axle before you get in the deep doo doo. Make sure you post pics if you use an MV.

    Patracy's "SEMTT"

I mentioned this to Soni and just putting it out there again for you. Have you thought about making it a tilt cab? You can get the pump and ram from an old cab over semi (or just make one from available parts). When I drove HEMMT's there were certain points under the cab that were a PITA to get...

    tractor/trailer airbrake problems..

That's a possibility. When you push in the Valve does it sound like a full charge of air is coming out of the hose? You do know you have to push in both the SERVICE and EMERGENCY valves to charge the system correctly right? Are you sure you hooked up the hoses correctly? Someone may have...

    M35A3 heavly modded comming soon

Anything with a yaller motor in it is going to cost you big bucks when (not if) it breaks. Good luck with the CTIS, it was designed by an idiot after conducting a focus group with some morons. Save your spare axle for when you need those bearings that are made of unobtainium. The A3 was an...

    2013 la rally

Tim and Lady Green......the Boss Lady and I are planning on being there. Put us down for one large shirt and one 2XL. As usual we will be bringing cookies and possums (not eating possums). If you need payment before the rally PM me and I'll get some money in the mail.

    tractor/trailer airbrake problems..

On a straight air brake system when there is no air on the trailer the brakes will stay locked until enough air is put in the system to release them. On a air over hydraulic system the brakes will not lock up when there is no air in the system (we always double chocked the older trailers if they...

    Lifted Deuce NO NO!

My guess is that factory lift blocks were designed by ENGINEERS using test data, known specs and the right kind of metal. Once the design is done and it's all put together they whole package is reviewed by LAWYERS to determine what kind of LIABILITY could be incurred if there was a CATASTROPHIC...

    Lockbourne, OH Looking for pickup/shipper

There are several folks up there that can help you out....start with Gimpyrob.....if he can't assist he can put you in touch with someone who can. And be careful about posting upcoming auction info....even pics without links can get you in Dutch with the Mods.

Just a couple quick questions about recovering a 5ton

If you know the person that's going to do the haul make sure they have ramps in case you can't use the base loading dock (assuming they have one). Sometimes you can find a place and make an improvised loading dock. I did that when I bought four deuces out of Little Rock. We found an old...
