    LM-105 Shelter Trailer

    I have it's bigger brother.

Tow Bar Mod. Do or not

Are you going to MIG weld them on? That would be my route. Not a bad idea for schelping them around and a good place to route air and electrical lines. I have hooked them up by myself but it is a PITA, especially with backing up blind and not knowing if you have the lunette and pintle lined up.

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

You will never see another M920 like Soni's. I think he put an 18 speed behind that big arsed Cummins. That sucker will pass everything except a fuel stop.

    Problem with M920 Transmission

He is the CAT tranny guru on here......he can talk you though a trouble shoot and can help you source parts. Very good guy to deal with.

    Cracked A3 Wheel

Welding a rim is a DOT no-go. You can be placed out of service (your truck ain't going nowhere until it's replaced) if you were caught in a roadside spot check. I know you are not commercial but if you are in a truck and they want to pull you over who has the law on their side? I would replace...

    M916/M920 key ???

Did you go back and read some of the posts? Several people said they have keys or the code you need to get one made locally.

    Rare item with my deuce

There is a tale to be told about that item. But not in public. I wish it would end up in my yard.

Fresno, Ca. to Macon, Ga. Leaving June 5th ish

You'll find out how good that M915 pulls when you cross Tehachapi pass......that is one steep hill. Is the Boss Lady going with you?

    855 Liner problems

I had an old school Cummins mechanic tell me that sitting for long periods of time without being started is death on a Cummins engine. Something about developing a rust spot in a certain place and then having the piston run over it. Just my thoughts for what they're worth.

Maybe a fire control computer for something like this.

    Affordable hydraulic hoses?

When I had my money pit (AKA a M816) I replaced 2 of the boom hoses to the tune of around 250 bucks. I sat down and figured if I was to replace all of them it would have cost over 3 grand. The big hoses cost big bucks. The guy that made mine said he would cut me a deal if I did all of them at...

Don't forget they are a couple of hours behind us.

M971 trailer recovery from Nashville TN

Usually you have to call Phoenix to get the local number. I would give them a call in case the number has changed. My guess is that the GL guy from Fort Campbell is the one you will be dealing with. If it is a National Guard Unit they may be able to release the trailer to you without the GL rep...

    Must be electrical gremlin night

On rare occasions I've had the same issue with my M927. Never had to apply hammer pressure but one time it was the emergency brake switch. I moved the lever a few times and it fired up. It will also not crank if the transmission lever is not in the exact neutral position. All trucks have...

M971 trailer recovery from Nashville TN

Make sure you have the IV cable (electrical connector) and that all the pins are OK. Those trailers have an air ride fifth wheel plate and air ride suspension. If any of the air bags are bad you may have issues with an air leak. Take some extra air line and some way to clamp off air lines if...

Has Anyone heard / had problems with surplus tires?

You would be surprised (well maybe not) at some of the stuff I have taken out of military tires over the years. The oddest was a can of C ration peanut butter that had to have been 30 years old. It was in a M105 trailer tire so I guess it didn't get enough milage on it to wear the can down. We...

How much is too much gasoline in a waste oil blend?

When I was making "deuce juice" my mix for 100 gallons of fuel was 30 gals WMO, 30 gals WVO, 30 gallons straight diesel and 10 gallons of gas to thin it out. Worked well but you have to use it immediatly or it will try to settle out.

    Alternative fuel fest

Yea....but unless they are real fat you only get about 3 miles per possum.
