    Since the bolt pattern is the same as the Bolster trailer I am thinking you could lower one by swapping out the tires and rims. I have the tires left from the one I scrapped out....I may check it for fit one day.

    2.5 tons=5000 pounds......you can go up to 8000 and allow a fudge factor. Rent or borrow a heavy duty 2 axle tag trailer (with air brakes) and put another 8000 on it. That 16K per load......take it easy and make enough trips to do the job safely.

    My guess is that it was spot welded and sealed at the factory. A lot of panels are being reproduced for those type vehicles. You can cut the old panel out and mig weld the new one in......most of the time they are oversized to fit over the adjoining panels. Not sure how available they are...

    Never forget that your truck was built by the lowest bidder. It's prob sucking air somewhere......did you tighten the filter good when you installed it? Does it have more than one filter? I don't know A3's so I am guessing.
