Your childrens future just got catapaulted into the air. Now you know why we are 15 trillon dollars in debt. How much a pop are we paying for these..........to the "lowest bidder"? The last time I looked we had the best fighter planes in the world. Some corporate lobbiest (prob retired...

Help for newbie! Releasing brakes on 939 for towing

It is a straight air brake system....if you can't charge the system you will have to cage the brakes to move it. Cage bolts should be on the side of the brake chamber unless they have been removed. CAUTION!!!!! Once the brakes are caged you have no brakes.....and an automatic transmission...

    Mud Bog Help

Deuces (and other military vehicles) were made to haul cargo and soldiers over rough terrain and for use on improved roads, while being operated by young soldiers that may or may not be expericenced at operating big vehicles. They can and will get stuck in mud. It's your dog and you can whip...

What size sockets fits 818 lug nuts?

Get a "Bud Socket". Available at NAPA or Fleetpride. It will save you a lot of knuckle skin when used with a 1 inch breaker bar and cheater pipe or a 1 inch impact gun.

    Disc Brake Engineering Thread

Well.......I don't have an analytical mind......how about some pics or diagrams that show how to mount the calipers on the axles and what mods are necessary to do so. I remember from when I had my Duster that there were several bolt on kits that you could put on the A body cars to convert them...

    New Deuce and some Questions...

Try some WD-40 or other lube on the latch. I insure my deuce through JC Taylor for 100 bucks a year full coverage......but you have to send them pictures of the building it will be stored in. There are also a lot of restrictions on how you can use it. Search is your friend.

    Pedestal identification help

Those mounts were meant to attach to the bed of a small truck and spread the vibration around when the weapon was fired. There was another piece that fit down into the hole that increased the height of the mount. The cradle for the weapon was mounted to that piece. Many of those type mounts...

    Pedestal identification help

I have seen them mounted in the bed of pickup trucks and topless CUCV's with an M-60 mounted on them. They were used to dress up OPFOR (Opposing Force) vehicles. Prob too light for a "Ma Deuce".

    M916 not so scary now

The tranny is somewhat idiot proof.....it will not drop into a lower gear if you are exceeding the speed for that gear(at least the ones I drove in the Army wouldn't). This does not take into account the ingenuity of evolving idiots. I like the CAT tranny as long as someone else has to pay...

    M916 not so scary now

You accelerate....ease up off the throttle (not completly off) cup your right hand around the shift lever and gently slap the shifter into the next highest slot. 1-5 is Low Range (if I remember correctly) and if you are loaded you need to use all the gears....if you are bob tailing or lightly...

    M916 not so scary now

Once you get the hang of "Slap Shifting" the CAT it is great.....you can really make the beast move on out.....she is gear bound but will pull one **** of a load (we pulled a D-7 dozer with ours). If your truck has not been modified (there was a MWO put out on them) be aware that if the air...

    Unimog FLU419 Tractor thing?

Well........it is what it is. IMO it was designed by an idiot after consulting with a group of morons. They do have a set of cool hydrolic tools that go with it. It was not good as a truck or as a backhoe......and as stated above you have to be a triple joined amendexterious midget to work...

    AC-130U gunship/CV-22 Osprey

We used to clear the range (Kilo Impact Area) at Fort Benning after the Spectre's worked it over.....all of the target vehicles were just holes connected by pieces of scrap metal.

Wreckerman and Elmo AL to NE

I am back at the primary LZ.......washing clothes and relaxing. Elmo is looking a little grungy after his two cross country rides in M915's.....I may toss him in the washer too. The little charmer made the aquaintance of another flight attendant on the flight to Birmingham.....seems the...

    M915 fuel line woes

There is absolutly no way to get to the back of the engine that I can see.....2-3 inches of clearance between the engine and firewall and all sorts of stuff in the way too. It requires two wrenches for the operation...one to hold the fitting that goes into the block and one to turn the flare...

    Code Enforcement

I see nothing wrong in the pics.....except that you too few vehicles. You need a M818, M816, M915, some more assorted trailers and a big Maintainence tent. Maybe a CUCV and M715 for contrast. It is a shame that one arsehole can ruin everybody's fun because they have no life. Have you...
