Will...thanks asssisting my parts search for the 250.
I was at a trucks parts place today and they had a bunch of NOS Cummins parts but Murphy was dogging me and they had everything except what I needed in respect to the 250.
I did manage to get an air tank and fuel cap for the 915.
I am looking for wrecker accessories but am cash poor.....I will have a butt load of trade goods to include brand new tie down chains (small with hooks on each end), some of my NATO plug adaptors, stainless steel coils, OVM boxes, deuce front grills, a complete cab tub with doors (very good...
That particular Driptroit is a two cycle engine...like an old Yamaha dirt bike...it has a power band and does it's best work at high RPM...it burns oil just like a chain saw.
I used to run to Cal in a KW with a 8V92 and it used about 6 gallons on a round trip.
They can suck fuel if ran hard for...
That is why I eneded up with a flat bed on my bobber....a former member here (now banned for bad deeds) bobbed mine and did not adjust for the 105 bed.
If you use the stock drive shaft the wheelbase will be just enough off center to look dumb with the 105 bed.
I ended up liking my flatbed better...
Frodo...can you send me a link to that info.
I know about the historical plates but they will not issue them to anything larger than a deuce unless it is a civilian truck (go figure).
I also don't want to be hamstrung about what I can do with it and when I can drive it.
I have a valid medical...
The engine in the wrecker needs a piston and liner.
That's after 200 plus for a head and gaskets.
I have a parts source but he is saying over 200 bucks for those two items plus a rod bearing.
Then there is at least 300 labor.
Anyone got a cheap source for Cummins parts for the 250...
Those transmissions were very paticular about air pressure... they will kick into neutral if the pressure drops below 80 psi.
How is your pressure while you are upshifting......you may have to take it to the Cat house and have an expert check it out.
Could be a clogged line.
Just my thoughts.
I want to the DMV and explained all that to them.....(wasn't going commercial, farm use, go to shows occasionally)....they still say I have to have DOT number and apportioned plate.
I may go over to the next county and check with them...they seem to be easier to deal with than the one I am in...
My plan is to be there Thursday before dark.
Plan A is to have the expando with M105 in tow.
Plan B is the M109 with trailer.
I will have a buddy with me that bought a deuce from me.
We are convoying over...I'll post our exact route and time later in case anybody might want to join us.
Tim....here is a link to his website '- Teds Trucks N Stuff Store - Military vehicles and parts, milirary surplus items' I would like to get it up here prior to the rally to see if I need anything to be able to use it at the rally.
If I don't get an offer to bring it up I would appreciate it...
Well...a devious idea hit me last night....I did some measuring and a deuce bed would fit just about perfectly if I removed the 5th wheel.....then it becomes a BIG farm truck again....there's more than one way to skin a cat....there's just no way to make him like it.
Kind of ruins it for it's...
I have brand new fuel tanks (in the box) for M50 series multi-fuel trucks.
If they will cross over I am asking $300.00 each.
Do you have a pic of the original tank????
I have ministering to the 915's wounds since she arrived here a few days ago.
I have replaced the fuel filter, ignition switch, windshield wiper blades, and rear tail lights/turn signals.
I am waiting for an air tank so I can test the air system and see if the brakes will release.
The...
You can in Alabama but if you want to sell the truck later your choice of buyers is limited.
Ala will not issue a title from a bill of sale for vehicles older than 1976. After that you need a title to register them.
If you bring the GL title from Fla to the MVR they will issue you an Ala title.
The PA system has made it's way to Teds near Dothan, AL
If anybody near his place is headed toward Gadsden before the rally I can chip in some fuel money if I can get it delivered prior the the GA rally.
Plan B would be for someone near Teds that is heading to the rally to bring it with them...
