GP isn't GL. I bought a lot of GL "will not start" trucks that were just out of fuel or had dead batteries. But if GP says it will not start; it needs something more than that as they actually put more effort into getting them started than the "push the starter button" that GL did.
I see a lot...
Why would you care? They are both fairly lousy diesel engines, but replacements are plentiful and cheap. Power wise the 6.5 is only marginally better and with an aftermarket turbo and injector pump the 6.2 makes more power than the 6.5.
GP has a guarantee that the vehicle is as described. If you over looked their vehicle condition description then it is on you, but if it doesn't match what you got you can file a claim. But you only have 10 days from the time you remove the vehicle from GP lot to do so.
Cut, Chop Modify...WHAT!!!!!. You can't touch a truck like that, there are only a few in existence still as they got surplussed out into delivery/service trucks and driven into the ground.
There is a junk yard with a few in the southern hemisphere, but outside of that dang few still around.
I don't see a Lincoln MKT? Just saying if you don't refer to a person by their user name and a lot of people on here don't know him as Mr Mike, campaigning for his rig might not benefit him much.
It took me a while to spot the MKT and I have fighter pilot eye sight.
The issue I think came down to the fact the GM owns the rights to the Hummer which is the same design and contractually AM General cannot sell them in the US.
And at nearly 200 K I don;'t think there will be a market for them here. With 10 thousand H1s out there and very few of those ere...
AM General isn't making them, they licensed it out to another manufacturer. I don't think AM General wants to be in the civilian vehicle market, that is why they sold the hummer name to GM and now they are licensing "Humvee to another company. When they went from AMC to AM General I think they...
The long time slang for the HMMWV is going into production under the authorization of AM General. Basically they are bringing back the Hummer under a different name with a far higher price tag. Starting at $168,000, welcome the Humvee C series. The first production models will roll off the line...
OP was a police dept which obtained it through re-utilization. By "Gov Agency" he meant himself not that he got it through one. Up until the last several months they could get armor, but the program has been shut down due to the recent "Police events" in MO, Baltimore etc.
I remember when moderators were less strict on political discussion, there is a very good reason why we are not allowed to go there now....I think it is a good policy because online walls come down and people don't care about throwing around insults.
I wonder if the off road status extends to...
With how negative people seem to like to be over the current hmmwv sales I hope a lot of them get exported. then the Neg nellys will be crying in their Wheaties when they are all gone and they have to pay 50 or 75 K to get one and the rest of us got ours for a song.
Not if done by a licensed exporter with the appropriate modifications. The DOD exports these all the time through FMS so I am not sure why anybody even cares.
So it appears that some of the recent GL trucks are getting exported. I got notified to bid on a shipment from Oswego to the Baltimore ship terminal for a HMMWV headed to England.
Perhaps more are leaving the country than we thought.
It varies by state. I have been in the market for a DUKW for a long time and very few of the surplus ones have good titles and very few are registered. The tour company versions are titled, but those are all reproductions built for the tour industry.
Not if history is a good indicator. All the stuff that can't be registered appreciates the most. DUKWs, Halftracks, Tracked vehicles. Most likely because they get the least use and stay in the best shape. The old Gasser 2.5 tons and such that were registered got beaten to pieces and scrapped...
I am pretty sure that Arizona is one of the states that no longer register HMMWVs; which might explain why he hasn't registered it.
Also check up on insurance before making a purchase, it can be really difficult to obtain even on a Civilian H1 and worse of a HMMWV.
